How about "The Finest Joke is Upon Us"?  That song used to give me chills.

I know it's girly, but I love "Window of My World."

Some polished numbers are among my favorites: "Wings of Thorn" and "Asia Minor."

My fiancée finds "Kicker of Elves" to be very annoying.

I have days where i'll be singing the chorus all day over and over under my breath and i won't know why

"awful bliss" is a favorite of mine.

Tractor Rape Chain is my favorite.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I love Tobin's GBV songs but have no patience for his solo albums.  I imagine this isn't an uncommon thing, but boy I love those GBV songs.

Game of Pricks from Alien Lanes is another underappreciated favorite. I also really love If We Wait from the split 7" with Jennie Mae. That might actually be my favorite GBV song. So many to choose from!

Damn straight.  Don't even get me started.

I saw GBV on the Alien Lanes Tour in the parking lot of RFK Stadium.  I've long since abandoned F5ing gbv.com, so I have no clue as to who this guy might have been, but before they started, this fat guy with a denim jacket and a budweiser walked up to Pollard's mike and started singing the theme to Happy Days:

1 2 3 O CLOCK 4 0 CLOCK ROCK

I remember thinking, gee, Pollard's hair is so curly.  He should grow it out.  Then he would be Townsend and Daltrey simultaneously.

Do the Collapse is one of the most underrated albums of all-time. That's right, I said it.

What?  Actually, Do The Collapse is the one album I got no problem with saying I don't like, hands down.  There are some great songs on it, though, like "Things I Will Keep" is one of my favorite songs ever.  I also like "Mr. Buckles" quite a bit.  "Dragons Awake" on the other hand... Ew Boy.

More all-time faves:  "Drinker's Peace" off of King Shit and the Golden Boys.

Half Smiles has some awesome shit on it: "Sleepover Jack": "You're going to fuck up my make up.  You're going to make up my fuck up."  Awesome!  Also, "Asphyxiated Circle" is fucking crucial.  "Closets of Henry" makes me want to change my life.

I agree.  It has it's moments, but it's definitely not a contender for their best work ever.  Maybe because Pollard dropped his Hit-It-And-Quit-It esthetic?

BTW, when will Wuster call in as Ocasek?
