I don't know if he is either--can't imagine they have staff that do these things for them though.

This week's Best Show should be in iTunes by now. A technical problem on their side of things. Enjoy!

A very musical show last night. Tom & Spike's "Star Spangled Banner," "Come On Y'all (It's Time to Have Fun)" and Tom throwing down some sick slide whistle licks were all wonderful surprises.

There was something about the energy of last night's show that's hard for me to put my finger on, but it was an especially fun one.

Agreed.

That slide whistle just gets me every time. I hope it becomes a Best Show mainstay.

Tom's underselling/teasing of Jake Fogelnest is always hilarious.

That Spike call is one for the ages. Tom and Spike's duet was right up there with Spike hissing "He's DRUNK!" at the Fredericks Soundboard and the debut of "Baked Ziti Jones" for all-time Spike moments. The whole thing was as surreal as the Fredericks vs. Fredericks Soundboard conversation or the episode where Tom got the FOT SFX machine and turned every caller into a ghost. As Tom put it later in this episode: "Is the Best Show getting weirder in 2013?" Oh yeah, and I love it.

Naturally, I can't be bothered to remember who the caller was, but the whole discussion around Ringo's "I'm The Greatest" as Worst Song To Get Beaten Up To and Tom's resulting slidewhistle duet with the '73 Beatles on the song was amazing.

Isn't it true that Chris L is sort of "responsible" for introducing Mike to The Best Show? I kept waiting for Chris to mention that during his call, but in true form, he kept a low profile.

(Unless of course I'm not remembering correctly.)

Agreed on the Spike call, Wes. And the echo/distorted heave-hos were great.

2013 is Spike's 10th year of calling The Best Show.
