I could imagine a movie where the vampire/Candyman falls in love with a character because he's the descendant/reincarnation of the old flame.

BUMP. I just posted the JC Bach image to twitter, so you can blame me for that. Now that I've done it, I realize that it ties in real well with the recent sound collage phenomenon.
