Title: Would you hire a chicken?
Post by: Julie on September 14, 2009, 09:50:45 PM
Dear Tom,

Someone wants to be your personal assistant, I imagine like Monk's personal assistant. I think they have some kind of father complex combined with a detective fantasy. I don't think you want to seriously consider hiring anyone who is afraid to ask you to hire them, anyway. Plus, they don't sound very mentally balanced to me, but I imagine you wouldn't have to pay them or acknowledge them in public.

Don't judge me, please. I'm only trying to help some poor guy who doesn't want you to see him blush like a little girl.

Sincerely,

Julie from Cincinnati

Boy, remind me never to ask for a favor in Chinatown.

I never would have referred to you as a chicken! If only I'd known...

Don't worry, you didn't.  Besides, in many ways I am.

How did chickens become so associated with cowardice?

Wild game cocks *pause* are some of the most viscous and territorial creatures, I've heard.

Not so much barnyard chickens.  We bred them for cowardice.  Come on, TE, you're better than that.

Took the words right out of my beak, Buffer.

But game cocks sure are viscous.  That's undisputed.
