On the December 23 show, at about the 39 minute mark on the podcast, Johnny from New Jersey called in to ask for a Christmas present suggestion for "this girl i kinda like". To my ears, it is the one and only Larry Da Perv, using a FAKE NORMAL PERSON VOICE. I don't have any fancy voice recognition software or anything, but just listen (or re-listen), especially the way he says Patton (as in the general) late in the call...sort of like the way Larry says Patton (as in Oswalt), seems to me....
Sorry if someone already posted on this...

I, too, noticed some LDP tones in the voice of "Johnny." I believe it is him.

Intriguing. A non-board-posting FOT friend of mine brought it up as well. A keen ear the FOTs have. I don't know if the Larry hatred amongst FOTs is playing along (keeping the mystique), or if they think he's real and really hate him, but if that whole thing is not sanctioned by Tom and he's a character (which I'm 99% sure he is), then he is the caller of the decade in my book.
-
I was listening to an old show in the archive and thought somebody way back when sounded a lot like Larry.

Me too, I think he's been calling for years. It's only just recently that we've had a full on Larry-chrysalis.
-
That's him. I think that's his real voice though.

There's 1% of your brain that thinks Lawrence D. Pervison is a real person? That's too much!
-
I heard Neil Hamburger is not that guy's real name either.
-
I'm fairly certain a good many of the names on this board are false as well.

So much anger.
-
Wow.
I remember as a kid, I was probably 7 or so when the first Tim Burton Batman movie came out. I had never heard of Jack Nicholson before, but I thought that the Joker was the best bad guy EVER. And then, one day I came across a picture of Jack Nicholson in Mad Magazine or something and it was just so weird to see this regular dude with all of the same features as the Joker, but who didn't have the same colour - exact same features, but just a regular old person.
That's how I felt listening to this call. EERIE.

I felt this way when I found out Mary Poppins was Maria in The Sound of Music. Amazing what a wig can do.

Was it the Leader? I think the Leader sounds a lot like Larry completely normal and out of his "Da Perv" character.
Listen to the July 13th, 2004 episode from 50 minutes....there's a Leader call, than the H-man I believe (a young Harrison), and then the Leader again.
He called the associate call-screener Matthew, just as he calls AP Mike Michael.

I am Larry D. Pervison.

Was this the guy who said he didn't like the west coast?

I'm Larry D. Pervison!
Wohoo! Another Sparticus fan.

Sup.
-
Ya'll know how some people say that all Southerners sound alike? I honest to God think it's Larry d Perv every time Greggulator calls.
-
Ha! At last you reveal your cards, Jason from Alabama I mean Dave from Knoxville.

In fact, we are both "voiced" by Fredericks.
-
we may never know who the 'real' Larry Da Perv is, but he definitely calls in as 'Scott from New Jersey' in this episode:
July 5, 2005: The Author A Book Called 'Roadie Rage' Checks In. Much Talk About Who Should Carry The Torch For the 2008 Olympics When It Comes To New York City! And Some Other Fun Stuff

I, too, noticed some LDP tones in the voice of "Johnny." I believe it is him.
I also believe it to be him, which adds a bit to the mystery. I've never really bought the "divorced man" trope. I think he's a college kid or just post-college.
-
Amicably divorced man.

Something I've noticed on this December 22, 2009 show is this thing that Tom does at the end of many of the callas. He does a "HUH" sound that sounds exactly like Gary. I keep thinking Gary has popped in to bust AP Mike's beans, but then I remember that Gary wasn't around in 2009.
Add my vote to the "Yes, Larry is Johnny" column.
-

I know what you mean. It's hard, now, to imagine that there was ever a time when we didn't have Gary the Squirrel.
-
This guy Patrick from Aug. 2, 2005 TOTALLY sounds like LDP. Second call of the show around the 1:44 mark.

I think that's Tom's falsetto "bye!" that was generally used to say goodbye to a caller he liked. Gary's voice is the same register.

Gary should say "bye" in Tom's regular voice. ;D
-
The 'huh' thing always sounded to me like he was startled.
-
all the evidence is solid, and is only reinforced with the basketball talk. now i want more!
-
At around the 1:16:30 mark of the September 6, 2005 episode, a guy calling himself "Michael" calls in claiming to be a therapist who sounds exactly like Larry. "Michael" gets hung up on pretty quickly after telling Tom he'll feel better if he thinks about twins.
-
i think i found another moment. Joey C form Jersey City from May 15 2012 about 35 mins into the podcast. AP mike qualifies him as a quality caller... he ends the call by saying "how about them pacers?"

Are you sure you have this date right? At :40 of the May 15, 2012 (a Rest Show with Hatch), a caller calling himself Larry da Perv calls in and sounds exactly like Larry da Perv, but I didn't hear a Joey C in this one.

i just made sure i got the dates right, yes may 15 2012. at 36:56 (on the podcast) Joe C from Jersey City calls in and after introducing himself Mike say "oh i like Joe C, Joe C is a good guy" implying maybe that mike is in on the joke... Joe C's call is two calls after a Larry Da Perv's call so maybe Larry was double dipping.
-
maybe Larry was double dipping.
Sounds like something he'd be into.
-
breaking news re. LDP. Last night, MC Steinberg was a guest on "Redundancy Radio" episode titled "TALKING BEST" and revealed that Larry De Perv is his real-life best friend from high school. Jake Fogelnest, spike also called in.
-
So he's not real is what you're saying.
