Can't argue with that.

Oh man the bottom half of that list is absolute perfection.

It's a shame no one called in for Criss Angel.

no kidding

Tom, am I crazy or have you cooled on your fandom of Jay Reatard over time?
-
We certainly don't like or dislike many women.

Have you visited FOTchan lately?

I noticed this, too (since I mentioned Jay on the air).
I was late to the party on that guy, but I love him now.

he's been around the block before. he's been in about 20 different bands/projects; he's a machine. the only downside to him hitting it big (which seems to be snowballing very quickly), is that he'll be out of town more frequently.

I really like Lost Sounds. Not so much his early stuff like the Reatards. What is he, 14 years old in those albums?

yeah, i think so. he was pretty young. ive read articles where he has said it was kind of intimidating because he was real young playing with all these older cats, so despite how much fun playing out rock'n'roll antics like vomiting on stage are, he knew these guys had grown out of that phase already. and in the reatard days, it was very much about making noise to make noise. nowadays, he's into harmonies and making things work with melodies and stuff, making good, rough, lo-fi pop/rock.
granted, these are all things ive read in articles and picked up living in memphis.

I bought the Lost Sounds self-titled at a Jay Reatard show earlier this year, and it's been in heavier rotation than anything that has come out in '08. Awesome stuff.

I think Blood Visions is his crowning acheivement (so far), but that LP is a close second. Final Solutions stunk.

"commercially", i agree. its what he's gotten huge on. but theres some stuff he sings on a jay reatard tour that are angry angles songs. besides, as much as i like Blood Visions, i always enjoy the EPs, "Hammer, I Miss You" and "Night of Broken Glass" a little better.

I haven't heard any of the FS singles or Disco Eraser, but I think about half of Songs by Solutions is pretty good.

PFT's video store stories cracked me up, especially the one about the angry "Ballroom Dancer" customer. Like Steve, I also liked the "Surfin' Bird" moment.
Worst part of the show...The Whitest Kids You Know caller who got unceremoniously GOMP'd. What was that all about anyway?

Ugh! I posted in the wrong thread.
Ignore previous post. And this one too.
