Title: Scharpling & Wurster on "The Simpsons"
Post by: BadGuyZero on March 13, 2016, 01:26:45 PM
Today is the day!!! Tom and Jon guest star on an episode titled "The Marge-ian Chronicles." The episode is scheduled to air at 8pm/7pm Central. FOX is airing a sporting event earlier in the afternoon so the show may begin later depending on if the race cars take the checkered flag on time.

Does anyone have a recording they can share of the amazing closing credits?

Probably not the first person to say this, but this is the first new Simpsons episode I've watched in at least 10 years, and it was great.  Tom and Jon were hilarious.  Even my wife, who doesn't care about the Best Show and refuses to watch any Simpsons episode from this century, thought it was a great throwback episode.  I only wonder what Harry Shearer thinks of Tom's voice acting.

As a longtime Simpsons fan, this was wonderful. So much fun. Tom and Jon were hilarious. My family and I were all smiles the whole episode!

I watched some other recent episodes of this season in preparation for this one and they were... not good. But this one was great! Almost felt like the golden era again. Tom and Jon were funny, but the Simpsons themselves was also very well written for a chance. Almost as if the writers wanted to step up thier game in the presence of Tom and John, but that could be the fan in me talking.

Here's a link to a Vine [posted by GreggersP] that has part of the closing credits: http://vine.co/v/iwApT1tDwpa (http://vine.co/v/iwApT1tDwpa)

A great excuse to tune in to the Simpsons.  For the life of me, I cannot remember how the episode that started with stealing Flanders' fresh eggs "Boys and coddled eggs, eh?" to the Martian corporation.

Yeah the wife and I checked out from the Simpsons after the 8th season, but I really enjoyed this episode. Gonna share it with the kids this weekend.

(I watched it on my Roku's FX Now app, for you AppleTV/Roku owners out there who haven't seen it yet.)

Guessing the line, "Hey Flanders, gas up your leaf blower, much?" was a Wurster reference right off the bat?

The only parts that really felt written for S&W were the lists of sponsors and (of course) the dialogue over the credits. It warmed my heart to see the oversized bumper sticker at the end, though.

"I can make jazz the official music of planet mars!" - Lisa

"That's where it belongs" - Marge

so good

New Simpsons is like a new Ray Davies record, it probably has some great moments but you're holding it up to a really high standard of previous genius stuff.
It felt like a typical new episode. Very stoked for S&W though. Best part by far was the closing credit dialog. Homer,  marge, and Lisa were really annoying.

It's no Bob's Burgers that's for sure.
