I'm pulling clips of the WFMU show for the station that Dudio is setting up, and I'm scratching my head here.
Does anyone remember the first time Stroszek came up on the show? Meaning the time AP Mike let Tom borrow his Stroszek DVD because it was "hilarious"? I feel like that was the birth of the character "AP Mike." I could've sworn it was late 2007, but it could be 2008. I've searched the board for mentions and still can't figure it out. Please help!

Definitely earlier than that. It may not be the very first time it comes up, but there's discussion of Tom borrowing Mike's copy of Stroszek on (appropriately?) the Halloween episode in 2006.

Here's the call in question:
Chris L wonders how much it would take for Tom to sit through a marathon of the Saw horror series. Tom moans at the thought of it and charges $300 for the trilogy. He can also look forward to more Jigsaw antics in Saw 4 next Halloween. Tom thinks the franchise will finally fizzle out with the seventh installment. (Tom later reveals that Hostel would cost $150 and three of them would rise to $500. Tom will get closer to that payday when Hostel, Part 2 is released in January.) Tom asks Mike if he's seen any of the Saw films, and he responds by saying, "Are you kidding me?" Tom's not sure if that means yes or no. Mike lent Tom Werner Herzog's depressing Stroszek, and he's still a bit disturbed by having to endure a chicken jumping around in a cage for five minutes. Mike touted it as the film that pushed Ian Curtis to hang himself. Tom can understand where Curtis was coming from.
In the recap, I posted a Stroszek YouTube clip above this section with the caption: "Despite all my rage, I am still just a chicken in a really weird Herzog film". As a result, I won one of those Webby Awards for excellence in online captioning.

I should've thought to search your site, Omar! Thank you both. I could've sworn it was after I started listening in summer 2007, so I must've gone back and heard that episode.
