I thought this was one of the funniest hours of anything that I've heard in a long time. The show's history is full of dumb callers trying to make Tom mad, but most of the people in this hour were artisans of one form or another.
Tom recognized two of them for their excellent... er, "excellent" work, even - the guy who said he'd learned about the show through Hollywood Handbook especially. Although I thought the Bruce Villanch thing was over the top. And telling the three studio amigos to sue him for their money was an excellent end to the whole thing.
It probably won't, and shouldn't, happen again, but it was highly entertaining. I can't tell whether I was laughing or sweating more at listening to the building discomfort.
I was sitting in a hipster ramen joint in downtown Durham, not far from where I saw them live, and I was just trying not to a) snort the broth out my nose and b) draw the attention of the whole restaurant. I succeeded on both counts, but not by much.
A+

It was one for the books. Mike deserves some serious props for conducting that lush symphony of Tom's barely contained rage.

Where did those genius callers come from? They were all so brilliant. I liked the Ruffalo/Villanch one a lot.

My favourite was Five Finger Deathpunch "Bad Company".
Also, which of the acts on that Grateful Dead tribute compilation is most likely to do Pigpen-style rapping?

The most frightening part of that tribute album is that it has a cover of drums/space on it. Is that really necessary?
-
The groan when he hears Wally Wackiman and then the laugh and frustrated drumming on the table was the best.

Was Vic from Pennsylvania the infamous Vic Berger IV?
-
If they bring it back it needs to have intro music by Gary doing a modified version of I Can't Explain by the Who

Was Vic from Pennsylvania the infamous Vic Berger IV?
It sure seemed that way to me. Subject matter seemed right and it sounded like his voice.
-
Ah, was he the Mike Love guy?
-
I'd love for Tom to bring back the Rockford Files music.
