Two Canadian stars became first-time parents last Friday.

Vancouver-born actor Jason Priestley and his wife Naomi welcomed a baby girl in Los Angeles, as did TV personality Jillian Barberie of Burlington, Ontario, and her radio personality husband Tom Scharpling.

Appearing on Live with Regis & Kelly on Monday morning, Priestley gushed about being a new dad but did not reveal his daughter’s name.

The 37-year-old former 90210 star married make-up artist Naomi Lowde, 31, in May 2005. It was his second marriage and her first.

Barberie, 40, and Scharpling, who were married last July, welcomed Ruby Raven Scharpling, weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces.

Barberie’s six-year marriage to baseball player Bret Barberie ended in 2002. She is a co-host on Good Day L.A. and has appeared on Fox’s NFL Sunday.
