Title: So Cow
Post by: bobby. on August 02, 2007, 01:13:56 PM
When Ted Leo called a couple of weeks ago and mentioned his Galwegian support act wearing a 'Newbridge is for Lovers' t-shirt and threatening to play 'Rock n Roll Dreams'll Come True', he mentioned So Cow.

Now I'm mentioning So Cow and mentioning that you should mention to yourself to listen to him, because he is fantastic!

Oh, and bump with a purpose:

Mr. So Cow (Brian) and myself have had what was probably the first ever international Best Show meet-up. It wasn't in the Iron Monkey and there are only 2 of us, but still..

Well, I may as well jump in...
Yeah, International Best Show meet up...we got there before the Torontoians...Torontons...those from Toronto. As Bobby said, it was just the two of us, in the corridor of a lovely, cramped little music venue in Dublin, but to hell with it, it was a meet up.
We had a show in Cork last night, and the car journey back to Galway was spent introducing the bandmates to Hippy Johnny and The Music Scholar. They will be subscribing in the very near future  :)
But yes, hello board!

Oh, Bobby!

What a night it was. Tom's motives discussed at 2.45am in Dublin...near-singalongs of Porcupine Pie...

Now, only 40 hours later, here I am in Seoul, Korea...without Bobby, without hope...
It's a good thing you remembered to smile. Where am I, at a wake?

Just noticed...on the picture above, does it say

"you can't top the Pest Show"?

Bobby, of all people, you should know how to finish a B!

"You are as dull as a something on top of a something nice and strong."

whoops. my bad. I was looking at the Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic) insults.

"Tha thu cho duaichnidh ri èarr àirde de a' coisich deas damh"

or

You are as ugly as the north end of a southward traveling ox

What I should have wrote (I really need to fire this new intern) is:

"Go mbeadh cosa gloine fút agus go mbrise an ghloine"

or

May you have glass legs and may the glass break

Oh, lord. Didn't see this thread coming back ever again, but thank you Bobby. As always, a pleasure, and I'll hope to see you in Newbridge, County Kildare in July.

I'm in NYC from Friday on, if any 'Merican sorts fancy meeting up for tea, coffee or anything else. I'm doing a small recording for WFMU at some point, for the Liz Berg show...but not sure if and when that goes out on air. Beyond that I'm pretty much free for my first week over there. I will most likely need stuff to do.

Anyway, I'll away.
