I have never seen this show. There are 35 episodes, but only 8 are out on DVD. What a rip! :'( >:( :'(
Even worse!! They're out of print, so I'd have to pay 40 bucks EACH for used DVDs. WTF?

Cough *bittorrent* cough.
Buy the ones available for sale. Stealing is bad.

I'm ashamed to admit that I did look and was unable to find anything.
I'll pay $80 for a collection compiling every episode. Gladly. But for eight episodes? Buuuuuullshit.

I'll keep my eyes open at the bootleg DVD stands at Wizard World Chicago for you.

That's very sweet of you! Thanks.

This place (http://www.allmyfavoriteshows.com/movie/comedy/Get_A_Life.html) has all 35 episodes for $48.00. I'm not sure how legitimate it is.

I'm all about the get a life bootlegs if they are more than the 8 episode official release.
-
Yeah bootlegs are the only way to get it. My brother got his on Ebay

I got mine at a comic book/toy convention 10 years ago or so...
I also have a VHS of 4 hours of Chris Elliott bits from Letterman, which is amazing. It used to be available for a "donation" from a guy who ran a fan site years ago. I've been meaning to convert it to DVD, subdivided into recurring characters, etc. Has anyone else seen this or would have any interest in a DVD of it?

I would, I would! I best know Chris Elliot from his guest appearances on Letterman, and I love them.

The Guy Under the Stairs? Marlon Brando doing the banana dance?
Yes please.

The tape has stuff spanning like 10 years, from the young and creepily Amish-bearded Chris to guest appearances after he stopped working on the show. Marlon Brando, Regulator Guy, the Guy Under the Seats, the Chris Elliott, Jr. Show (a la Morton Downey, Jr.), the Fugitive Guy, etc. Brilliant. It doesn't contain, however, one of my favorite TV moments ever: Chris comes on as a guest, only wearing a black speedo. The audience roars for 2 minutes straight while Chris acts nonplussed at the reaction. Then he has a short, dry chat with Dave and leaves.
If I take on the challenge of putting this on a DVD I'll let the FOTs know about it!
There's a fair amount of goodies on YouTube also.

This show is pyooooooooor GOLD (ta ta Josh!).
"I got better things to do, okay? Adult things. Like, uh, playing with matches. And, uh, eating candy from strangers. Yeah, that's right... strangers... who, by the way, have the best candy. But I guess you wouldn't know that, would you?"

I've had the official collection on my Zip queue (Canadian equivalent of Netflix) for nine months now. Is it the other Canadian FOTs that are ahead of me in line? Emma, if you've been holding on to that thing please put it back in the mail.

there wasn't enough of elliott jr. on SNL last night to form an opinion of her comedy stylingz.
-
I love it, i've still got the VHS set I bought off of Ebay ten years ago. My parents were always big Chris Elliott fans from the Letterman days so when Get a Life premiered it was required viewing in our house.

I am full-on innocent! It is probably Paycheque.
Though if we are talking of Canadian (Torontonian) things, is there some kind of shady absurdist corner of the P-Mall where one could maybe pick this up?
