Title: Mosquito Bites!!!!
Post by: erika on August 05, 2007, 08:20:08 AM
HELP. I'm covered -- COVERED -- in mosquito bites. Mostly on the bottoms of my feet, my ankles and my thighs. (I had sandals on)

Any tips? There are about 5 million different tips online and I'm not sure which to choose. I've already tried hydrocortizone cream.

I want to amputate my own feet right now.

PS. I wore a huge amount of bug spray. I don't understand how these blood suckers got to me.

Having grown up in Milwaukee and gone to law/grad school in Madison, Wisconsin, by heart goes out to you. Calamine lotion is okay. Mostly you  just need to ride it out. They suck (pardon the pun). I am so, so sorry.

When I would do my laundry, when I lived in madison, I would have to go from the front door, to the side door to go to the basement. 20 feet tops, and in the summer I would get dozens of bites in those 20 feet, it was horrible.

A paste of baking soda and water (or baking soda, oatmeal, and water) works well, too.  Or soak in a cool bath to which baking soda and oatmeal have been added

Poor erika.

Poor erika.

Thanks! I took some oatmeal baths and made a paste with the aveeno oatmeal powder. I also used some Nature's Gate Oatmeal Lotion (by far the best fragrance-free lotion on the market) and took a Benadryl and I feel better.
