just wondering what your preferred combination of sweet and salty foods is.
i'm pretty sure mine's chocolate covered pretzels.
do you have one?

Too pricey to enjoy frequently, but I love the union of sea salt and chocolate in the Barcelona Exotic Candy Bar (http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/barcelona_exotic_candy_bar/exotic_candy_bars).

I enjoy ice cream sprinkled with salted peanuts or, better, these peanuts I sometimes make that are roasted in a mixture of soy sauce, garlic, onion, cayenne, and a dash of maple syrup. Come to think of it, I should try dipping those peanuts in chocolate sometime. I've got five pounds of organic bittersweet baking chocolate (70% cocoa) in my freezer--why not put some of it to this good use?

The Take Five candy bar is scrumdilllyumptious.

When I was a small kid, I accidentally discovered that sprinkling salt on chocolate covered macadamia nuts made them taste yummier. I don't know how I discovered this, but it was my first salty/sweet epiphany.
As a teen, hanging out at the local pizza joint after school to play Punch Out!, Sinistar, Dragon's Lair (and later Space Ace) and the awesome Black Knight pinball machine for hours on end, I found out (again by accident) that a pepperoni slice dipped into Coca Cola tastes pretty good. I realize now that this explains the appeal of pineapple on pizza.

I haven't done this in years, but if you put salt on a golden delicious apple - bite by bite - it's really tasty.

Similarly, salted watermelon is awesome

salt makes almost anything better.

There are these trader joe's salty sweet nutty cookies that are bangin'.

Kettle corn or that chocolate and caramel covered corn.

When I was in Ljubjana last year, there was this shop that sold only things made out of salt harvested by this huge marsh in a national park shared by Slovenia and Croatia. Stuff like bath salts, rock salt, stuff like that. Anyway, they had these dark chocolate bars that were flavored with these salt marsh plants and boy oh boy were they sooooo good. I can't stop thinking about them. I have a tiny bit of the rock salt left and sometimes I crush it up and dip bittersweet chocolate in it. I might try Omar's Spanish candy bars.
Hey, holy crow, I just found it here!

Man, I wish I could order it online.

Also, chocolate covered potato chips, believe it or not

Kettle corn
Oh fuck yes. I am all about kettle corn.

Apple pie with a slice of cheese.

I'm with Dave. I like to smush as many Utz chips in my mouth as I can and then squeeze in some M&M's and crunch away.
It's not a pretty scene but it's good for my soul.
Also, Fritos dipped in chocolate puddin.

We've got a place here called The Chocolate Factory that could be part of a chain that sells a little bag of 5-7 milk chocolate coated Ruffles for a buck or so. It hits the spot. Any more than that and you would never want it again.

That sounds like something worth trying sometime.
Coffee ice cream with regular chips on the side--that's another favorite of mine. Haven't been able to enjoy it for a while, since I can't buy any decent coffee ice cream up here and haven't felt like making any myself. Writing this may be giving me the urge, though; perhaps I'll pop the liner of my ice cream maker into the freezer one of these days.
