And nobody is home except for the doggies, so I have nobody to tell about it, except you guys!
So, I'm at home by myself everyday (except Stampy the dog.). My boyfriend & our two roomies work during the day. I decided I would try to get a couple of loads of laundry done today, while the machine is available. I went down, put one load into the washer, then about a half hour later, returned. I did the typical routine - put the washer stuff in the dryer, start it up, put another load in the washer and start it up.
So I come upstairs and hang out for about a half hour before I go to see if the dryer stuff is done yet. I get down there and the washing machine lid is open, the load I put in it washed and everything, the dryer still going. The two doors downstairs to reach the laundry room were closed, and the lid to the washing machine needs to be closed before it will begin.
I am positive I didn't go downstairs and leave the lid open - because I hadn't checked on my laundry at all yet. I try to avoid going up and down the steps, as I get really light headed and am scared of falling and hurting myself. I wouldn't have gone down there early.
I'm really hoping that some older models of washing machines have a feature where the lid pops open automatically whenever it feels like. Otherwise.. I have no idea. :P

Haha! I knew that was going to come up, but I haven't even smoked today and it wouldn't make sense anyway.
I think I have telikinetic powers or something.

Well, if you do, hone them: that way you won't ever have to walk down those stairs with a laundry basket
ever again.
I fear, however, that the explanation is not super- or paranormal. Is it possible that the vibrations of the dryer were intense enough to cause the washing machine lid to judder open? Alternatively, perhaps the washing machine was off balance to the point where during the final spin the lid popped open. Or both of those together.

I was thinking the same thing, but it seems like it's a little heavy for that. I'm not too worried about it, but it's the first strange thing to happen while I was alone in the house.
Hopefully I can put the telekinesis to good use. I get a new bruise everytime I go down those step!
