So I've just read. I'm glad I have little to no interest in that show.

Damn. I liked that show. Season one had me interested, but then they took like a month and half off in the middle of the season and I wandered away.

Two of the episodes after that break where they focused on a single hero were good, then the wheels really fell off at the end of the season. Sylar is evil because his mom's a bitch? Introducing a shapeshifting character? LAZY WRITING! The season finale was all kinds of lame.
What's with 'celebrity' directors directing episodes of TV shows anyway? Joss Whedon directed an episode of The Office last year. See if you can guess which one.*

I hear they're bringing the Olver Queen Green Arrow back in that episode.
-
I don't know why that show gets more props than Lost.
Lost has so much better writing and acting.

If Lost has much better writing and acting, Heroes must be the worst show ever made!

"I'm going to go up and direct an episode of Battlestar Galactica, which I'm kind of stoked about. It's cool, but it is scary because it is like, "What the f---? I can't bring anything to that show." That show is genius and they have a very distinctive visual style. But you are safe as a kitten. If you go in there and say, "I'm going to shoot everything in one big master shot," they'll go, "No you're not, because that is not what we do on Battlestar Galactica." I guess it is more about performance-oriented stuff, but at the same time that cast is top notch. How do you f----- direct Mary McDonnell?" -- Slob Smith (http://televisionary.blogspot.com/2007/08/kevin-smith-to-helm-battlestar.html)

Eugh. I hope someone on that set has the decency to keep the man far, far away from Mary McDonnell.

Gosh, I hope so. I have no interest in a Cylon Starbuck Gets High on Space Pot episode. Or the President Smokes Space Pot to Alleve Her Cancer Pains (Wait, they already did this one).

I'm imagining a remake of the John Sayles movie Passion Fish (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105107/) by Kevin Smith, which is almost enough to ruin it for me. That Jay guy in the Alfre Woodrd role?
-
I don't get it. Is Kevin Smith dying of some terrible disease (besides his general future health problems from being a smoker and a boar) and these are his Make A Wishes?
I told my friend about this and he reminded me of another directing venture that he did on a popular kids show.

So racy it needed it's own DVD. Did they just teach the kids toilet talk for an half hour? The warning on the DVD kills me too (especially those thumbs up). If there ever was an Emmy for "Biggest Eww Boy Moment" this would take home the gold.

I can't view the above image at work, so I'm assuming you're talking about Degrassi. Jay totally hit on Manny. It was gross. The next season, Manny became a total hooer, got fake boobs and showed them to some slob holding a camera, and became obsessed in her pursuit of an acting career. I blame Kevin Smith.
You know, not that Manny, with her Freedom G-String and her cheating, boyfriend stealing ways, was a prize to begin with, but still!

Why it was better to grow up in the 80s than the 90s, reason #55:
Terribly Produced Canadian TV show:
80s: You Can't Do That on Television
90s: DeGrassi Junior High
No comparison. "Allllisssssshhhhhtaaaaiiiiirrrrr!"

Excellent post, Lamont. Smith's remake of Matewan will be similarly horrific.

You think it was terribly produced? I don't know... about that.

Terry Moore, wife of showrunner Ronald D. Moore, told fans at the official SciFi Channel Web site that despite what he said during a recent interview with AOL, Smith of "Clerks" and "Dogma" fame will not take the director's chair for "Battlestar Galactica."
"No he's not," Moore said in a post. "Scheduling conflict."
There has been no statement about the recent development on any of Smith's Web sites, or through any interview sources, but it does appear that Smith's dream come true was, in the end, just a dream.
Will the media be in an uproar?
"No, they probably won't," Moore said of SciFi Channel's publicity team having to counter this story. "Something like that only registers on message boards."

I don't think you could dodge a bigger bullet then that.
not a fat joke, honest!
