Post by: Fido on September 02, 2007, 07:51:44 PM
This is... it's ... ok, maybe it's not genius, but it's pretty damn clever and funny.

See, e.g., the link on the left called "Serpentes on a Shippe."

Not a parody but still fascinating and fun!

Speaking of blogspot, did anyone notice that the first quote the eggheads at HBO pulled for the John from Cincinnati series finale promo was a quote from some dude who has a blog on blogspot? That's sad.

Yes, but they were quoting Alan Sepinwall (http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/), who is also the TV critic for The Star-Ledger.  He's definitely one of the best TV writers/critics around, and he's respected in the biz.  He recapped every episode of John from Cincinnati on his blog on Mondays, which is where they pulled the quote from.  He also recently rewatched and recapped every episode of Freaks and Geeks (http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/search/label/Freaks%20and%20Geeks).  Must-read stuff for F&G enthusiasts.  So while it's definitely odd to see ".blogspot.com" in an HBO ad, this guy is legit.  The Big Love pull-quote from Linus (http://18rabbitscircleblog.blogspot.com/) a week later?  Pathetic.
