Tom --

I love The Band and Steely Dan. Can I still listen to your show?

Thanks.

Paul -

Absolutely! You can and should listen every week!

Just know that when you listen you are listening as someone who runs contrary to the attitudes and beliefs of rock music.

See you this Tuesday!

Tom.

Tom - follow-up question:

What was the song/album that completely turned you off to The Band and Steely Dan? I like both, but can see how others might not.

What was the straw that broke the camel's back and made you say, "That's it, I'm done with this"?

I was going to start a new thread, but I will just piggy-back on this one.

To see something that definitely does NOT run counter the cause of rock and roll, here's a terrific live version of the Rod Stewart-era Faces playing Stay With Me, which I think has got to be among my top rock songs of all time. How could one potentially great singer go so wrong so fast?

This back to back with Blue Oyster Cult's Cities on Flame, and I am all set for the party

The Band is an awesome group. I totally recommend the DVD by Martin Scorsese of The Band's last performance with friends. It is so amazing. Its called The Last Waltz

Not only did Joni have the worst song on the album (Coyote), but she ruined Helpless, too.
