Man, I can't wait for this to go down.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am a die-hard DFK fan, but you've got to admit, Jimmy brought the sweet-tea-and-string-tie charm last week. Do you think this scrappy young contender has what it takes to go all the way?

I'm betting every penny I have on Dave from Knoxville. When Jimmy goes down in defeat, he should be required to get the following phrase tattooed on his arm: "Jimmy, Newbridge was just a läff."
Maybe Henry Owings could serve as the referee, dispensing BC Powder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BC_Powder), green stamps, and advance copies of the new Les Savy Fav LP.

Oh yeah? Well my gun totin', laudanum addicted, Irish woman friend and I will be taking OUR evening's entertainment down at the cyclorama instead!
-
I prefer the Camera Obscura for my entertainment drachma, although I did faint when first I saw the godless doppelgangers of my fellow townsfolk.

As senator Charles Sumner learned

Southern gentlemen don't play

Fuck, no Irish? I can't go! Neither can Paul F. Tompkins. And he's the one dressed like Col. Sanders!

I hereby invite all Irish-folke to join said laudanum addicted lady and I at the first annual Critickall Mass Tall Velocipede ride!

The horse and buggy have taken over the streets and gullies of Manhattan, and it's time we take them back!

No filthy Irish will be allowed in such a dignified pugilism contest -- they can wait outside sucking on cheap whiskey and attempting to fornicate with our good ladies.
Taunts in this match will include, "I do declare sir, your finery is inappropriate for a man of your stature! Attendant, fetch an ampule of morphine -- my consumption has returned."
-
To paraphrase Tom Nuttall from Deadwood, TL's bicycle masters boardwalk and quagmire with aplomb. Those that doubt him smoke British cigarettes by choice.
-
TL, can I bring my hoop and stick?
-
I hope the Newbridge Athletic Club has water access...

oh god how I hate the Irish.

I love you, KicktheBobo, this is only the third good thing that has happened to me this week.

oh god how I hate the Irish.
What're you, Oliver Cromwell?? You are dead to me, Nativist Andy!
Next thing you know, you'll be telling me you hate ITALIANS, too!
Luckily for you, they won't be hitting these shores in numbers any time soon...

ok, i'll bite:
buried treasure?
the best damn slice of pizza you've ever ate?
found that missing sock?
somehow grew an additional 2" (in height, you sickos)?
-
Guess I can't be there, either, but I'll be sure to tell the blacks and the dogs I know that they are still welcome.
-
I frequently refer to my cats as "the blacks," so I took this to mean you'll be in touch with them and my dogs. Bandit must decline, of course, but the other three just might be interested.

This might be a habit worth breaking, even if you do live in Lubec.

I think in this case you mean "dogz" or "dawgs".

Dave from Knoxville vs. Jay from Memphis (http://jayreatard.blogspot.com/2007/09/touring-touring-is-never-boring.html)?
-
I don't sound as southern as all that here.

I'm a lover, not a fighter
Dave from Knoxville vs. Jay from Memphis (http://jayreatard.blogspot.com/2007/09/touring-touring-is-never-boring.html)?

I'd put my money on Dave from Knoxville

Dave from Knoxville vs. Jay from Memphis (http://jayreatard.blogspot.com/2007/09/touring-touring-is-never-boring.html)?
Dave from Knoxville backed by the <a href="http://www.myspace.com/bostonchinks">Boston Chinks</a> (assuming Jay from Memphis lets him hire them) would be a force of nature. Their myspace tagline is "Lou Rawls= Blue Balls," and I think we all know what they mean by "Blue."
If anybody happens to live somewhere where Jay Reatard is billed in the near future, do go see him. If he's still being backed by the BC's, your head will explode. Non-stop rock action.
