Hey Tom,
I was listening to some "vintage" episodes in the archives the other day and I was reminded how great some of the earlier characters were, like Cliff Petterson and voice-over legend Kendrick Martin. Which got me thinking: what is Jon Benjamin up to these days? Not just in relation to TBS but in general, if you happen to know - there is a void in my life post-Home Movies. If you could coax him into making a return appearance that would be outstanding. Thanks.

I know that I wouldn't mind ONE BIT owning and listening to a best of Scharpling and Benjamin album.
Scharpling and Earles? uh, not so much

He has a new show called Assy McGee, which will premiere on Adult Swim late this year (I've seen it listed as an 11/26 premiere, as well as December 2006). [YouTube preview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_7RAyXH0tw)]
He's also part of the cast for David Wain's The Ten (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0811106/).

He was also hilarious and the best part of Martin & Orloff. And some other adult swim show called Lucy Daughter of the Devil or of that nature....preview's on youtube

Jon Benjamin went off and had a kid, which took him out of the mix somewhat. Im sure he'll work his way back to the show someday.
I dont know about Assy McGee, but I do know that Jon's been working on an animated program for Comedy Central called Freak Show with David Cross. The last I heard was that it debuts in October. I look forward to it, and you should too!
Tom.

Here's (http://www.aspecialthing.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2216) the AST post about Freak Show, w/ links to press release, etc. Sounds very exciting.

Benjamin is the coolest.
He was good on that kids' show O'Grady which was on the The N or Noggin for a season or two. It was him and a couple of other people from Home Movies but no Brendan Small. It was no Home Movies, as it was a bit more skewed to the t(w)een audience but it was still pretty funny. Oh and there were a whole lotta guest stars on it too - David Cross, Matt Walsh, Rob Corddry, Sam Seder, Jon Glaser and other "alt-comedy scenesters." They used to have episodes available on the OnDemand feature on my cable box but not anymore. I don't know if it's in production anymore.
Hopefully it'll come out on DVD soon.

FREAK SHOW debuts next Wednesday, Oct 4th on Comedy Central; 10:30 PM EST, after South Park.
Believe the rumors: it is both funny and animated.

While I haven't been crazy about the first three episodes of Freak Show, this past week's show (which was the best of the lot) did feature a tall bike gang.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I meant to remark on that. Glad someone else remembered.

He would make a great interview guest, I think.
Given his history with the show, plus he is starring in two different animated shows and has his own live-action show upcoming as well.
