Am I crazy, or has the dosage on the Advil bottle changed? Didn't it used to advise adults to take 2 tablets every 4-6 hours? Now it says I should take one. Have I been taking the wrong dosage my entire life?
-
Maybe the problem was that you were also reading "with a fifth of vodka" after the dosage?

Zing!

I always just took four at a time anyway. Be careful with Excedrin's new "Tension Headache" pills, though - 500 mg of acetaminophen and 65 mg of caffeine in every tablet!
Recommended to be warshed down with a cocktail of warm water, Jamesons, and hot sauce at about... 10:20 AM.
Woot!

I guess I've never noticed that. I always take 2 also. In fact, I've taken 4 altogether today.. and I still have my headache.

Top it off with an egg sangie and that's the recipe for a very, very restful Sunday afternoon.

What is an egg sangie?
-
An ungodly thing that does not belong between two slices of bread.
-
Ah, so "sangie" is simply a diminutive for "sangwich"? I was pronouncing it with a soft "g"--as demanded by the following "i"--and that threw me off.

I think the correct term is "handie."

Yeah, the diminutive (or informal) take on sandwich. Egg sandwich. Lately I've been doing them up this way: two large eggs fried in bacon fat, toasted marble rye as the bread, topped with monterey jack, hummus, sliced tomato (my local produce place was carrying these amazing sweet Jersey-grown badboys for most of the summer), bacon or thin-sliced fried chourico, and some kind of hot sauce (Habanero Tabasco, Red Hot, Cholula, or Chinese ketchup). It helps set everything right. V8, seltzer, and coffee are the multiple chasers if I don't have the luxury of the nap afterwards. V8, seltzer and other alcohol-based curatives if work is not on the slate for the day.

I would like to thank Mitch Hedberg:
"Advil has a candy coating. It's delicious. Then it says on the bottle, do not have more than two. Then why do they have a candy coating? I cannot help myself. Let me have ten Advil, I have a sweet tooth."

My cousin is a doctor and he always told me to double the recommended dosage on over the counter pain medicine for it to actually work.
