Hey everyone!
I wrote and produced a video for Ted Leo and the Pharmacists a month or so ago, and now it has made its exciting world debut at www.stereogum.com (http://www.stereogum.com). I'm happy with it.
My friend Michael Bellino directed it. He's good. AND there's a FOT celebrity in it! What more do you need?
Tom.
-
I don't like it.
I LOVE IT.
Is it me or is that Officer Tom??

first thing i thought when that guy came on the screen.
-
I don't care who's in it (besides Mr. Leo, of course). It's awful cute. (That's a compliment, in case the word "cute" gives you pause.)
-
I also thought the burly guy was Officer Tom (I really hope the marijuana leaf tattoo is a fake), especially since the initial post said an FOT appeared in the video.

Tom meant an actual celebrity, not a local traffic cop.
-
That was a zing.
-
I'm so simple I thought "FOT celebrity" referred to Ted.
-
I was hoping to see cameos by Sammy Hagar and Sylvester Stallone. So disappointing.
-
I believe that tattoo is of a nautical star, not a pot leaf.
-
Are Spaghetti-o's vegan?? Inquiring minds want to know.
-
I for one would like to know the names of ALL of the people in the video. Are there credits listed anywhere?
-

Upon second viewing, I think you're right.
-
This made my day, and soon it will make the day of my friend Colleen.
-

no. I'm guessing it's probably not spaghetti o's
-
I have been informed that it's a thermos filled with baked beans
-
Wait, Whutt? Who didn't know that?
the second dude is bandmate James Canty. After that and OT I'm stumped for who these people are. Actors?
-
Here is the actual link for those too lazy to search the site (http://www.stereogum.com/archives/video/new-ted-leo-and-the-pharmacists-video-colleen-stereogum-premiere.html).
According to the comments on Stereogum, the video features Ted's dad (the ref) and his wife Jodi (girl at the end). There was also a challenge for Ted to arm wrestle the ABBA Box. Still not sure who the "special acting performance by one of the long-time Friends Of Tom" (http://www.scharplingandwurster.com/?p=54) refers too.
-
It's Officer Tom, I say!
-
That Ted Leo IS fit.
-
I wonder how long it took Tom to convince Officer Tom that he had to throw the match for the video.
-
Awesome.

About six hours would be my guess. Probably only gave in when Tom said they could go do doughnuts in Purple Shirt's lawn after the shoot.
-
That scary dude was Officer Tom? I was hoping maybe the ref was The Old Codger.
-
Speaking of the Old Codger: I hate to speak ill of any FMU DJs, and I really do enjoy the show, but often I'm like, less talk, more old-timey. Leave the comedy to the experts. You know?
-
Awww, I enjoy the Old Codger.
-
Me too, me too! I just wish he would play more 78s.
-
How much of his live shows does Ted devote to arm wrestling?
Also, do I have to sign up on his website or at the local rock club if I want to get in on the action?

I thought it was pretty funny when he called Paul Harvey and Bob Grant youngsters.
Plus, isn't he the guy from the Frogs albums? At least he sounds the same as the old man character in those.

Yeah, that was funny. I feel bad now. I don't know about the Frogs, though.
-
I can never hear enough intimate details about the social diseases of Sophie Tucker.
-
i'm so glad the old codger is on before tom every 2 weeks. i could listen to him rant about old codger stuff all day!

Curse you, Mainiac FOT! You and your closer-to-Portland ways. You probably drive, too, don't you?

Don't be too jealous. The goat cart does have wheels from a Pinto, so I guess that qualifies as driving, eh?
