Man Tom was on fire this week.
Anyone else see it that way or am I just tripping?
-
Probably both.
-
Probably both.
True...
But I think The Kid's been on fire for weeks now. I was hapy to accept my first GOMP to facilitate the blitzkrieg pace he's been managing to keep up.
-
I thought he was a little drunk (*ducks to avoid blows*).

You mean drunk on the wine distilled from the grapes of awesome, no?
I think it's strange to hear the Kid having no outlet at work for his creativity due to the strike (Damned Consolidated!) so he has extra juice for the show. And of course, for Dutch. That movie adaptation of the book is getting added to my Netflix queue NOW.
-
Yeah, the Dutch brainstorming definitely deserves an entry in the Best Show Vault.
-
I completely agree that the kid was on fiyah last show. A great show all around if you cut out the "James" portion.
... he has extra juice for the show ...
Speaking of juice ... did I not hear stevie blue identify himself and immediately get hung up on last show? Whatever happened to that guy?
-
The Kid handled that potentially devastating encounter with "omnicreep" James perfectly.

In a rare dissention, I was with Tom all the way up until he actually wished death on the guy. I know it's live radio, and passions get inflamed, but boy, it got dark there for a minute.
-
not as bad as getting trapped in a flaming car wreck days.
-
Ason, being neck and neck with me, wanna have a post-off?
-
In my best show lie-bary (which I've just finished organizing and listening to exclusively for two months :-[ - purchased albums 10 hours, 41 minutes, 18 seconds. edited clips 36 hours, 16 minutes, 47 seconds. podcasts/full shows: 228 hours, 56 minutes, 8 seconds) I enjoy the "Tom only" material as much as the "Tom +1" phone-in material. He's a god damned genius is all I'm saying.
-
Uh oh. Am I like a Grateful Dead bootleg collector, but with Tom Scharpling? ???
-
Ason, being neck and neck with me, wanna have a post-off?
<-------straight, but not narrow.

my Best Show folder is 13.9 Gigs
and I don't even consider myself a super fan.
This damn internet age makes it so easy to indulge your interests.
I remember when I first started collecting comics, it was absolutely impossible to get my hands on certain titles
maybe that scarcity builds passion....

(Sighs.) All the good ones are straight.

Aw, come on man, I've got a P.O. Box. I need those tapes!

To continue the topic:
Joanna Newsome should take over Shelly Duvall's roll in The Shining, except in this version she has to drag her harp with her everywhere and she's quickly caught by Jack Nicholson.
Actually that's kind of a permutation of the topic.
Keep up the best work, Tom.

I actually wished death on someone in the same way that Tom wished death on James one time. This dude was freaking me the eff out and I just thought it to myself but it was very real ...and the guy actually died. In a car accident. with a guy driving a car full of crack up the wrong side of the street in the midst of a high speed pursuit. Fucking spooky. I felt bad, but that guy also had some bad mojo hanging around his head anyway.

I think I'm the only person on this whole board who likes Joanna Newsom.

Note to self: Stop making fun of John's Gibson Challenger.

Nope! I only have two posts, though, so I may not count.

Are you from someplace cool?!

Good question. No, I'm not, but I want everyone to think that I am.
-
Well, your post count just went up, though.
(So did mine.)

you count! good to know i'm not all alone.
and hey, now you can respond to this post and up your count once more.
-
I'm doing this because I was told to. I don't like this feeling.

Nope, I think she is amazing.
-
I like a couple of tracks on The Milk-Eyed Mender and most of Ys, where her vocals are much more appealing.
-
I like that last Joanna Newsom record. Beyond that, I don't know her.
