Dear Tom:
Thank you for talking about Help! the other day. You inspired me to record it when it next came on Sundance, and I just rewatched it last night. Not only is it a charming, funny movie (yeah, yeah, I know: it's not as impressive an accomplishment as Hard Day's Night, but it's fine silly romp even so, and the supporting cast is great), but it's very nostalgic for me: I first saw it as a child of eight the year it came out (seen it many times since, of course). Last night I bellowed along with all the songs and had a grand old time. And it's all because of you.

Haven't seen Help! in a pig's age, but if memory serves, there is a scene where the Fab Four are goofing around on sleds, so stoned that their eyes look like maraschino cherries (which was one my first "these guys are high" realizations). The deeply saturated colors in that movie are beautiful.

To the tune of "Ticket to Ride"! I didn't notice their eyes. But then I wouldn't.
