The newest, and judging by her gender, greatest super-caller of them all.
Though, truth to tell, and certainly not to denigrate Erika's stellar contributions to the show and the board, I haven't heard many FOT calls that didn't also qualify them to be super-callers.
Thank you all for a fabulous first year in the FOT community. I will find some way to reward you, one and all.

Thanks Dave! No need for any hailing, though. I just like to call!
And don't expect me to clean up the hut. I'm a proud slob and I intend to stay that way.

Just swirl the beer cans until you find one that's not quite empty, and join the party!
-
Just make sure there aren't any cigarette butts in it.
-
hmmmm. should I make a snarky comment about AST or not?
just kidding. Congrats Erika!!!

I drank a swig of butt-beer once. No fun!
-
You're awesome Erika!! Seriously, I just adore you. :)
-
The feeling is mutual, Miss Miss...

More like Super CallHER.
(Get it, because you're a woman).

sexist.
-
Erika, being from Baltimore you need to strive to be "The Wire" of supercallers. By that I mean your calls need to get tied up in bureaucracy and you should be drunk.
-
Congratulations to you and Mister Boh, Erika.
-
I just reached the point in the show where Tom confers supercaller status on you, erika. Your reaction was lovely: you were so sincerely surprised and so sincerely thrilled.
Congratulations, madam: you deserve your title. I'm jealous, of course, but am I willing to put in the time and expose myself to the terrors of calling week after week? No, I am not. You are, and you deserve to be honored for it.
For that matter, so do you, Laurie, despite your Laurie money (I loved it when Tom used that phrase to describe serious wealth). Your charming giggle and your pluck alone should qualify you.
And, while I'm at it, Swiss, if your stamina let you call more, you'd deserve to be promoted, too.
All you accomplished lady callers: I tip my hat to you. You set a standard I cannot hope to attain. Kudos.

Thanks, Sarah. :)

Thank you so much Sarah I appreciate the kind words! It was a total shock and I'm still SO happy about it!
(but the title of this thread still creeps me out a bit... I'm not used to being "hailed")

Cheeze Whiz, I take it back! HEY, DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, HAIL ERIKA
-
At least it's not "Heil, Erika," eh?
-
Exactly :)
Don't take it the wrong way, Daveeeeee..... I'm just a little more shy than I let on :)
-
In the interest of keeping things in perspective, I have to admit that I think Tom was a little hasty in bestowing supercaller status to Erika.
Just kidding ;D
Your calls are fontastik! Get used to good wishes from random strangers. Congrats!
-
Elephant in the room: Laurie's Supercaller status.
Sorry, this was not meant to besmirch Erika's glorious thread/new Supercaller status!
-
Just one thing.... how long it too so long?
And shouldn't Lori's dad be able to buy her supercaller status?
-
Erika's calls are always great and her superstar status is well deserved. Go Erika!
-
Just one thing.... how long it too so long?
And shouldn't Lori's dad be able to buy her supercaller status?
Nobody can by super-caller status. Not Lori. Not Erica. Not Dave from Noksvile. Nobody.

At the risk of sounding uppity, Erika and DFK don't need to.
-
I was really only going for the spelling and grammar zing. Sigh.
-
I was going to point out that DFN might indeed try to by (sic) his way into supercallerdom.
-
I was going to point out that DFK might need to stop ending sentences in prepositions.
Is that still a rule?
-
jeepers creepers.
Someone needs to start a thread of just bad grammar and misspelled words so you people can get this shit out of your systems.

Thats something I could agree about. Caring about grammer doesnt make you sic its a thing to pride yourself of.

Not really. I know there are people who still claim that it is, but according to Grammar Girl (who cited a number of sources that I can't remember offhand), it's acceptable, if clunky.

I meant the rampant correcting needs to be worked out but maybe it will work both ways. Poor (is it poor or bad? now I'm worried) spellers can go crazy and get out all that out and correctors can get all their correcting out.
And the rest of us can live in peace.
-
Hey, I forbear from correcting almost all the time, even though the restraint sometimes causes me almost physical pain. I inserted "sic" after "by" in my post because I didn't want one of you to jump on me--and I knew one of you would, given my reputation as the grammar Nazi here.
As for ending sentences with prepositions, it's still discouraged in formal writing, although even there it's tolerated when the alternative would be just too, too stodgy.
-
I don't correct, but I do judge.
-
what does "sic" mean again?
-
"Intentionally so written--used after a printed word or passage to indicate that it is intended exactly as printed or to indicate that it exactly reproduces an original" (Webster's Collegiate, 11th ed.).
-
I've always wondered, now I know.
-
Take that, Colin--chika chikaahh!
-
Take that, Colin--chika chikaahh!
For 'chika chikaaah' you get partial credit.
A perfect answer would've included:
'You jack of clubs'
or
'You're a French duke'.

Sic semper tyrannis.
-
It makes sense being that Erika is a staunch James supporter.

Fixed!

That was a zing.

This thread just polished off a six-pack of boring juice.
