Awesome!
-
I have never in all my life been so humbled.
-
Oh shit! And look at James literally flaming out back there. Awesome.
-
Fan-friggin-tastic.
-
HOLY COW!
-
Awesome!
-
You are a true talent, Sir.
-
rad!!
-
AWESOME
(They look so angry!)
-
Scary, scary teeth.
-
holy crap.
-
It's beautiful. Perfect. You, sir, are an inspiration.
-
This is so cool! It looks awesome! I've always wanted to be a cartoon. And we're like superheroes!
So great. Thank you. ;D
-
Nizzice.
-
The cartoon Erika definitely got the most flattering physique.
-
Shouldn't Paycheck have some sort of maple leaf on his costume?
Not really complaining. It's a nice rendering, and the crashing James is a beautiful touch.
-
I want to know what Dave is looking at.
-
The cartoon Erika definitely got the most flattering physique.
Haha it's true! My legs have never been that skinny in real life!
I love my snarl.
-
adequate.
-
Andy, I believe my cape is more than adequate!
I'm shaking my fist at you right now. Through your computer screen. Can you feel it? The shaking of my fist in disapproval? It burns doesn't it?? DOESN'T IT ANDY???
I just hope you're happy with what you've done.
-
Hey, the man's encased in ice right now; he has a right to be stingy with the compliments.
Psst, erika--you don't really have superpowers. Keep it up, and I'll think you've gone wrong in your mind tank.
-
By the power of awesome!
The one thing that is missing in the illustration is the solid, dependable land-line that the supercallers call from, so as not to annoy Tom.
-
I was thinking that, too; all we see is a cell phone.
-
Hey I had the power to deliver a searing sting of disapproval by shaking my fist at the interwebs long before I became a supercaller!
-
Can this win?
I vote for this now.
-
There is no "win". There is only "awesome" and "very awesome". This is "very awesome".
-
awesome job!
The James rocket burnout is the cherry on top.

It's not burning out it's heating up. Ok?
-
Nope. It's burning out.
-
Zing
Zang
Zung!
-
Nope. It's burning out.
Burning the competition out, yes.

Great seventeenth post, you've clearly woven yourself into the fabric that is this community.

Must be tough loving you.
-
And so another week passes without James joining me on Facebook...
Tom.
-
Oh Tom. You bruised me.
But I tried, didn't I? Goddamnit, at least I did that.
-
What on earth did you edit in that fifteen word post of yours?
From now on you are known as Dio. Why? Because you are the Last In Line... to join me on Facebook.
Tom.
-
Never took you for a welcher Scharpling.
Anti-Tom.
Edit: 16 you jerk.

Tom.
Tom, I just added you on facebook. I'm less abrasive.
-
BMW needs to start a webstore so I can buy large poster-size prints of his work to hang on my walls and mystify visitors.
Great stuff, sir.
-
James/Jeremy/Poughkeepsie, I've always taken as sympathetic a view as possible, but now even I'm rethinking our Facebook friendship.
Samir, I looked for you but couldn't find you. There is a FOT group - I would like to be your friend if you would have me. I can be found as me.

it is done!

My tribute to the Supercallers:
Brian, this is great. Great colors, great spongy-moon texture. And the full-on, snarling expressions are top-shelf. Very nice, indeed.
-
LIKE A RAINBOW IN THE DARK!
-
I want to throw a parade for that picture!
-
Friends keep asking me "What's that coming out of your butt?"
I just say "That's just James."
-

the other day i was wondering why this contest hadn't ended yet.
this is why!

priceless, dfk

Sorry this took so long folks:

haha! that picture is fuckin great!

I'm inspired to draw a competing "REGU-CALLERS" poster featuring Julie from Cincinnati, Samir, Bonnie*, and, uh, ... Forrest or Jon from Maplewood or something.
With Tugboat Willie hatching a scheme in the background!
-but I probably never will.
Also--I think Spike is an African American btw; even though in my mind he's Truman Capote in the body of the crazy dude from Full Metal Jacket.
*She'd have a tambourine and a crucifix. These kinds of signifiers make it easy to draw people.

Awesome idea! But I believe the preffered nomenclature is "Quality Callers", as in "Evan from Providence--quality caller. What can I do for you...etc."
-
Samir* and Julie** are easy.
*Monocle and tea.
**Yetta and alcohol.
-
Neil, I love it! Great work as always!!
-
By the power of awesome!
The one thing that is missing in the illustration is the solid, dependable land-line that the supercallers call from, so as not to annoy Tom.
And a radio that has clearly had the volume lowered.

VERY important.

You nailed it. What are you, David Coppertone?
-
I don't know, samir--I think jam might need to worked into the picture as well.

What are you, Laurie (peace be upon her)?
-
I am chastened.
-
Truth be told, I'm not a big jam eater after all.
The monocle and tea, however, are entirely prescient.
-
Marmite?
-
Evan from Montclair is a forgotten Supercaller. The first one. Was he stripped in a later show?
-
I wish all rich people wore dollar sign headbands so we could identify them as easily as you did Laurie. You're the best Mr. Numberman!
PS: The only thing I think of when I try to visualize Spike is a big forehead and mustache. I have no idea why, considering I know about the supposed MJW resemblance.
-
Was he stripped in a later show?
Yeah, like a week or 2 after he got it, I think.

He's like the Captain Pike of supercallers.
-
someone should make one called "Scared-to-callers" and it could just be a picture of me. and it would be sad.
Nice work on the revamp, by the way.

Oh, it wouldn't just be you. Probably a cast of thousands, including me.
-
Marmite?
Gross!
Light butter plus marmalade on my toasts, thank you.

Like a gentleman. I can't stand Marmite.
-
Good choice, samir.
-
Marmalade is bitter.
I would eat "orange jelly," like in those Brach's things, maybe.
Time for a hundred visions and revisions before the taking of toast and tea.
-
I like bitter.

How about a "Should be scared to call" picture? It would be folks who get mocked or GOMPed every time yet continue to cheerfully call on a regular basis.
-
I like bitter.
I must say, this is the most surprising thing I've ever read.

I love you, too, buffcoat.
-
Tom said he didn't know if'in moi t'were, "...the best or worst caller" he ever had.
Perhaps moi 'twas both?
Or as Firesign Theatre might say, 'How can I be two callers a once when I ain't a really a caller at all?"
Perhaps moi should call tonight.
Oh second thought, NO!
Tom doesn't need it.
Stay on groovin' safari,
:o Tor :o
-
amazing.
