Title: Anyone want a kitten?
Post by: Emily on December 18, 2007, 03:14:48 PM
Hi,

My friends found this kitten & they're looking for a good home for it.  If they don't get any takers, they'll probably take it to a shelter tomorrow, so act fast! It looks pretty cute. Here's the message my friend wrote & link to photos:

(link to cute kitten photos)

"My sister and I found this adorable calico kitten by the side of the road in Union City. She was all wet and freezing and starving and could barely walk, but she purred when we picked her up. We took her home and fed her, and she's recovering remarkably well. We can't take another cat, so if none of you adopt her she's going to the shelter :( (guilt trip working?) She's a very sweet, affectionate cat and uses the litter box well. Please let me know if you're interested in meeting her!"

If you are interested, just let me know & I'll get you their contact info.
Thanks!
Emily

If only I didn't have a ruthless cat already. Somebody adopt this one; my heart is breaking.

She's a charmer.  If she lived in Lubec, I'd take her.

She has the same nose markings as my Zowie!

I'm always up for adopting a kitten, but something tells me that this asshole would not allow it.

Yeah, this dude's a bit territorial with his tiny Manhattan apartment.

Big old kitties don't mind little itty bitty kittens so much! Especially if the big'n is a male and the kitty baby is a female... they may not be as territorial as you may think. (I was surprised in college by my roommate's bitchy, evil cat warming up nicely to my kitten when I first got her)

(Emily do you want me to post this on AST? There are a bunch of kitty lovers over there too...)

Now that is one handsome gentleman.

Thanks, Sarah, on behalf of Burt the cat. He uses his looks to get away with murder.

Don't they all, don't they all.

"Burt" is a great name, by the way.

Ditto! My heart is broken. Please encourage the current foster parents to prolong giving her to a shelter as long as they possibly can. If this cat lived in Massachusetts, I'd happily step up (my feline duo would have to adjust), but my car is off the road and I simply can't afford to make the trek anywhere that isn't on an MBTA line to pick her up.

Proof that I am soft -- my first impulse was to make the "hey dude, nice Apricot Scrub" joke, and then I look at the cat and suddenly Awwwwwww. And the name Burt? Genius.

Here's Kojak and Dame Judi Dench awoken from a secret snuggle proving that a two-cat household can mean good things. When they're not chasing and hissing at each other, that is.

That would have been perfectly acceptable, though I do take pride in my baby-soft skin.

Forrest, did you get mad when they changed the scent? I did. It's so overly perfume-y now. Why St. Ives? Why?

I'm able to stomach scent changes in my face-care products because they are easily masked my the subtle scent of Nivea For Men face lotion. It's creamy, devoid of any oily byproducts, and the pores soak it up ever so willingly. It truly constitutes "putting on my face" for me.

I had to chuck mine because the smell was actually making me break out more. I long for the day I can locate such a cheap and dependable facial cleanser again.

I hear you. All these cheap scents do are conceal your natural pheromones, thus leaving you only olfactorally appealing to plants and two-celled organisms. AND they make you break out. It's lose-lose all around.

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that the kitten stayed with my friend Mary until this past Friday when it was adopted by a nice friend of her friend.

So, thanks for your help.
