A number of people have contacted me about deleting The Wire board, they say it has no place on the FOT board.
I will let the people decide.
-
I'm really not trying to be silly here
but what exactly is the purpose of this board?
Is it to be more of a fun community thing or is Tom trying to grow his audience
promote the TBS and his other work.....
neither, both
???
if it's the latter
then delete
if the former
then keep
-
I like that it has it's own spot for now. Maybe delete it when the posting dies down?
-
I think that there's a Wire board is hilarious and stupid, and I can't imagine why its presence should ruffle anyone enough for them to want it deleted. I mean, who the fuck cares? (Apparently
six eight people so far.) What does it matter?
This is the kind of thing that makes me root for Andy Breckman's gum chewing, even though I find it disgusting to hear on my radio.

I can't believe people actually emailed you to complain. They would probably just bitch about the high number of Wire threads anyway.
Maybe just keep it up while the final season is ongoing. It's kind of funny that there's a whole Wire board anyway.
-
I think it's hilarious, especially since Tom has a lack of interest in it. People are really that bored that they're complaining about threads on a free board that they don't have to read anyway?

"I keeps one in the chamber, in case you pondering deleting The Wire board."

Keep in until people lose interest.
Also, please post some of the complaining emails. I'm just curious why anyone would give a s-hit about something so unimportant.

People are mad about The Wire board? What is this, AST?
Actually if this was AST someone would demand that all discussion of The Wire be confined to one gigantic thread with 142 pages.
Remember when we had an FOT Teen Zone? For like the three teenagers that listened to the show? I really rallied for that idea. I say keep the board until people lose interest (I say probably within a month from now).

I say keep the board until people lose interest (I say probably within a month from now).
But how could people EVER lose interest in the best show on television?
-
Have I mentioned I don't get HBO?
-
I say keep the board long after people have lost interest. Just because.
-
I say we should only keep the board if we can have a board for every other TV show currently on the air. It's only fair.

The Wire is not just a TV show.
It's so much more.

Next stop: MTV's Parental Control!

Have I mentioned I don't get HBO?
I don't either but I watch The Wire thank you eztv torrent site
-
I don't really watch the Wire, but a thread isn't going to disrupt my day. I'm voting to keep it, in honor of all you FOT Wire fans, and my mother (possibly the biggest Wire fan I've ever met).
-
Check the IP addresses of those emails asking you to delete the Wire board. I bet at least half of them came from the Baltimore Sun.
-
Have I mentioned I don't get HBO?
Neither do I. Netflix, amigo. And then spend the next 6 months telling anyone who watches The Wire "ShutupshutupSHUTUP - no talking until DVD release."

I was hanging fliers tonight at work and a couple of dudes who were working the merch table for the upstairs shit-hop show started talking about The Wire. I have since forgotten what they said, so I can't provide any quotes (not that they were either ridicule-worthy or praise-worthy from my perspective), but my first thought was, "Holy moley, I just can't escape this Wire shit."
