I'm looking for recommendations of blogs/websites that post whole live shows.
http://www.nyctaper.com does it for NYC shows
http://www.bradleysalmanac.com/blogger.html records some great stuff from Boston shows
any others to recommend?

www.cableandtweed.blogspot.com posts a lot of shows from Atlanta/Athens.

The Live Music Archive has a lot of stuff: http://www.archive.org/details/etree
The only downside is that about 85% of it is shitty jambands.

So true but there are some good bands up there you just have look really hard.
http://www.archive.org/browse.php?mediatype=collection&collection=etree&field=%2Fmetadata%2Fcreator
and its more like 90%, but here are some highlights: Godspeed You Black Emperor, Man or Astroman, Steve Wynn et al, Magnolia Electric Co, Acid Mothers Temple, and Alejandro Escovedo.

I am aware and occasionally dip into the wealth of treasures archive.org offers (other bands available there perhaps of relevance here off the top of my head -- Minutemen, Calexico/Giant Sand, Mekons et al, Spoon, death cab, low).

I've actually found some really great shows on archive.org. There's a Minutemen live show up there, I believe.

Is there a site like archive.org that isn't 99 percent crap and isn't a torrent site that you need to register for?

Well, archive.org is legal and it's always there. You can sometimes find live shows on public torrent sites like mininova.org.
You could ask Bruce, too.
The live music scene kind of scares me. They are just way, way too into technical perfection. And who needs more than just a couple of live shows by the same band? Archive.org has 906 shows by "Phil Lesh and Friends." Yeeeeesh.

I love Dimeadozen* but trust me for every Faces or Sun Ra show there are about 5 - 10 Rush torrents that go up daily. It's the only option for some great stuff even though now Van Morrison is now on the non upload list :'(. There used to be a great Dylan site that has gone the way of the dinosaurs.
*Grabbed a really cool Mexican TV show with the New Pornographers doing a half hour in concert.

Yeah, I agree, that Archive.org stuff is ridiculous. The thing about torrent sites is it all became this elitist thing and the legal (or at least gray area) stuff that was found in corners of the internet ended up at those sites where you have to do illegal things to have access to the hard to find stuff. I'm not into that. Maybe I'm out of touch with how these sites work now...

There are a lot of bands not of interest to me at archive.org but there are at least a dozen that I enjoy quite a bit. Also, to my mind, perhaps the best thing about archive.org is that the site will host ANY band's shows as long as the band gives permission first. SO, if you want to improve the content of the site, get your fave band's approval and get involved.
Maybe I don't understand how these torrent sites work but I'm not sure what illegal things you need to do - I'm not sure to what you are referring - I don't think I've done anything illegal at dimeadozen? I do agree with Bruce though that dimeadozen does offer some wonderful treats but that they are the exception to the many many uninteresting (to me) posts.
Another alternative perhaps -- sites like this:
