Title: Fight Club musical?
Post by: TL on February 08, 2008, 10:23:56 AM
Um, could we actually plan to have another broadway strike right about the time this is set to open, please?

The first rule of fight club is that no one should EVER, EVER sing about fight club.

EVER.

Reznor would do well to read up on the musical theater conventions of the "I Want" song in Act I before he puts pen to paper for the rousing "I Want To Have Your Abortion."

wait, what does "do well" mean again?

(sound of wrists being slit with the HIGH FIDELITY playbill)

I am so pitching myself to write the libretto for this.

I am just a white-collar boy
With Ikea furniture
Oh when oh when will I find someone
To punch me in the face

Big Twyla Tharp-style dance numbers.  The big effect will come at the end when they toss the big public sculpture into the Starbucks AND YOU FEEL LIKE IT'S COMING RIGHT AT YOU!

I didn't understand half of that, but I still have to say, sir, your post was brilliant.  You have a great film/novel/comedy show/artistic career in you.

Thanks, Fido.  I just wrote the lyrics for my first-ever song in the past 24 hours (musical-theater type stuff, not hip rock and roll like all of us lonely hippies listen to).  I'm actually very proud of it; I kept thinking of TL and Stephen Sondheim when I was coming up with good rhymes.  I'll probably post more about it in the extracurricular thread.

And a big chorus singing out "HIS NAME WAS ROBERT PAULSON! HIS NAME WAS ROBERT PAULSON!" in the background while someone in a Meatloaf outfit sings about his "manboobs" or whatever the movie calls them.

The Fight Club musical seems amazing compared to the preview for the movie "Never Back Down"...which (I'm sure) is the bastard child of "Fight Club" and "The Fast and the Furious".

Gross

Isn't that Crash?  The Cronenborg one, not the other one.
