Title: THANK YOU FOR STICKERS
Post by: pigasus on February 22, 2008, 04:54:34 PM
Dear Tom,

OH my GOD I opened my mailbox today, and nestled in my ladyfriend's knitting needle catalogue was an envelope containing two FOT stickers:

Not pictured is how I shredded the envelope like The Kid From Brooklyn on a bag of our Canadian ketchup or dill pickle flavoured potato chips.

Imagine how happy it made me. Oh wait you can't. These sweet babies are going straight on my Hondo.

Got mine, too (postmarked a couple days before I started publicly worrying about whether my FOTdom was official -- Tom is, once again, one step ahead of me). Once I get a car I might plaster my stickers next to the front wheel well, much like racing cars do with sponsor decals. "I'll live with it. You'll die without it" will be like the radio-listener equivalent of a NOS sticker.

Gotta say thanks for the stickers, too, Tom.  The nicest touch was the HANDWRITTEN envelope.  That was amazing!  Thanks for being so awesome, Tom.  Keep it up, buddy!

Thanks Tom!!

Do FOTs have to submit a written request for stickers? Or is it on a first call, first receive basis?

I think the stickers are being sent out in lieu of membership cards, which are gone.

Thanks tons, Tom!  I got my stickers the other day but the icing on the cake was the handwritten envelope.  I can't remember the last time I got a handwritten envelope from someone outside of my family.   I may frame it and put it on the wall next to Small Change.  I was turned onto the Best Show about a year ago and have been listening to nothing but since last October.  No tv, just the Best Show every free second I have to listen to something.  I just got a roommate whom thinks its weird that's all I want to listen to but just last night she said she's kind of hooked on it as well.  Keep up the good work, all!

Understood. I cherish my card. Now, if I'm devoured by a western Maine woodchuck, do I will the card to my next of kin, or does it go to the next FOT in line?

I can't say enough good things about the Ted Knight sticker.  It's still uproariously funny to me, somehow.

Ted Knight? I thought it was Duncan Hunter!

I love the stickers, but the handwriting was tops! It looked like my brother's handwriting, or a serial killer's, and just added another layer the fake tom scharpling inside of my head.
