It's on! Let's make it happen! Let's bring it?! Who's with me!? Let's go!

Just heard Laurie pledge on Liz Berg's show.

And I won the Dungen CD! I was hoping for The Long Blondes, but I won't say no to Dungen! I like carpaccio-eating Swedes.

I thought I recognized the name of a certain gentleman from Sweden this morning.

Alas, I will be listening to Week One on Wednesday but am definitely pledging in Week Two! Has anyone found out how much the superfun pack is costing? I'm planning a wedding and need to figure out how much of it I need to cancel in order to get that motherloving poster.

Poor Nachum. What an awful way to lose a parent.

Aw man, that's awful.  Though ya know, 91 years, that's a good long life.  But still, that's really sad.

I assume that JM in the AM is played in the spot that is replaced with Web content on the schedule (M-F, 6am to 9am)?

Why do they not webcast it?  I was trying to look for info on the show on wfmu.org and couldn't find anything.

JM in the AM has its own separate webcast, which simulcasts the radio show and then plays other content throughout the day.

You can find the archives and webstream at jmintheam.org. There's a link from the "playlists and program archives" page on the WFMU site but it's easy to overlook.

It's a pretty different crowd from WFMU's regular listeners - mostly older Orthodox and Conservative Jews, as I understand it.  I don't know when the split happened - I remember, back in 1990, when I discovered WFMU, the crowd of Jersey mutants and proto-hipsters I idolized were just as enthusiastic about JM in the AM as any other WFMU show, but it was more like camp - as in, who except for us hyper-ironists in love with cultural detritus would like this stuff?  Observant Jews, As it turns out.

Do they usually get a lot of pledges during the DJ singing finale? I'm just wondering since it seems like the station is a long way from making their fundraising goal at this point.

$197,000 off on Saturday morning?  Feh, that's not a problem.  Almost 48 hours left, and several blockbuster shows to come (Cherry Blossom Clinic, Glen Jones, Bill Kelly, the rousing five-hour finale).

If they come up short, they can always call up Matt Groening.
