Hi folks,
I mentioned this last week on the chat, but feel a need to flush out the guilt more publically.
On the Christmas show, Mr Leo sang a song about a donkey, initially made famous by Ed Ames. This song evidently has some significance for Ted's family. I seem to recall that it would bring tears to his father's eyes.
I was excited, because completely by coincidence, friends had approached me and asked me not 3 weeks earlier to convert their old Ed Ames christmas vinyl to CD format, so that they might relive fond memories of hearing it during childhood holiday seasons. That album contained a song called "Little White Donkey."
I contacted Mr Leo's people and offered to send him a copy of this song via the wonder of the internets.
How was I to know that Ed Ames had actually recorded TWO Christmas donkey songs? And that I had sent Mr Leo the wrong one?
Gentleman that he is, he has never mentioned this. But I fear that should I ever meet him in person, he will thrash me to within an inch of my life, if not further.
My sincere apologies to you and your family, Mr Leo. Someday I will find a way to make it up to you.
Your friend and fan,
dave

Gosh - thanks, Dave - when I realized it was a different song, I just figured it wasn't worth bugging you about, and there was PLENTY to appreciate about the one you did send me, so...
If I track the other one down before you do, I'll send it along!

Dave: can you post the version you have? I'd love to hear it.
-
Can you describe briefly how to post a sound file?
-
Go to a website like sendspace.com or something and follow the directions to upload the file.
-
dave, if you'd like, you can email it to me and I'll put it on the blog.

This took me a lot longer than I'd like, sorry to Mr. Dave for that.
But for everyone who'd like to hear it, here is Ed Ames' "Little White Donkey", the version here being, as far as I can hear, NOT the song with which Ted freaked everyone out on Christmas Day. Enjoy!

Yes, I put it on Sharebee, because everyone likes that the best.
