If 'Bill Purry' was the best laugh of the show this past Tuesday, I am announcing my retirement from The Best Show.

Tom.

Any time that Zeph Marshack is on the Best Show, THAT is the best laugh of the Best Show.

A five-minute Zeph call is a thing of perfection, like a candy apple after a cool autumn eve at the Fair.

Mmm, candy apple.

Petey is Mel Brooks and Tom is Rob Reiner. Sure Mel Brooks is a scream (as we've all heard Tom discuss on air) but without Reiner the 2000 year old man is nothin. Tom's perfectly timed reaction was a big part in what helped the bill purry sketch succeed, and you should be proud of it, Tomas.

"Carl," please.  Rob is no match for his old dad.

That was a sketch? If so, someone please tell me what troupe I am a part of so I can quit.

Tom.

Petey is a great kid and I consider him a friend. Just because I tease him on the air doesnt mean I dont like him.

But to call that the best bit of the show is an insult to ten people. Im sure Petey would admit that Bill Purry wasnt his high water mark. Although as I think about it, Im laughing.

Tom.

Not everyone grows up.
Peter Pan, Timmy Von Trimble and Jon Benet Ramsey to name but three.

Or most people of my acquaintance, to name whom would take far too long.

Keep cool Tom, when I said Petey was the best but I did not say petey was the best thing about the show. I was just giving the little guy some well overdue props. He's had a rough couple weeks with the Bridgetroll controversey, but I think he's coming back in stride! Your reaction to it was priceless too and made it more enjoyable.

I liken him to Barry Bonds: Petey was unstoppable for a long time, was accused of drug use, age became a factor, but he's somehow still hitting ones out of the park every now and then. The difference is Barry Bonds is an adult monster and Petey is a teenager.

You didn't have to shoot the messenger Tom!

Oh well, PC Richards was brillant! Can I say that was the best of show?

I enjoy Petey as a caller, and am impressed by him as a human being, for someone his age his artistic creativity, sense of humor and ambition are to be applauded. He isn't as funny when he calls as he used to be, but he isn't 10 any more, and the schtick had a short shelf life (How many Sammy Schniggles bits do we need really). Heck we all get older and more serious, it is a side effect of real life.

Petey is a brilliant young man and will go far.
