I know at least one other TBSOWFMU who is a loyal Ron and Fez fan. Anyone else into them? Ron Bennington is the wittiest mofo I have ever hear. You should check them out at ronfez.net. If anyone wants some suggestions of segments to check out, just ask me or Bruce.

It's just you and me my man. Actually listened to an early show the other day.
How many 9 years old can you beat up at once. Great topic!
-
I used to LOVE Ron and Fez when they were on 102.7. Ron is absolutely hilarious.
Tom.
-
Tom you can still listen even if you dont have XM. You just have to be a little clever. cough...torrents...cough I can point you in the right direction if interested.
-
Ron and Fez are back in NY on 92.3 6-9. Everyone should check them out in the NYC area or on the interweb
-
I used to hear them when they were on late at night. They were funny, but I guess I just mentally grouped them in with those (insert string of most hateful adjectives possible) Opie and Anthony creeps.
I will give them another chance.
-
I remember listening to them after the Don & Mike Show was over on 102.7. It was crazy! Cow & Chicken Theme Song, Joe Poo, BAC #830523 HOOOO-AH!! Must've been 5 years ago .<sigh>
-
Don't forget about "Spy Report"!
-
I actually used to listen to O&A a lot more on XM, then they added Ron and Fez and I didn't like them at first. Now I hardly listen to O&A and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to fit 6 hours of Ron and Fez listening into my normal daily schedule.
Seriously, Ron is the funniest/quickest witted human being alive.
-
ron on a daily basis comes up with some of the greatest off the cuff lines ever.
-
I've been listening since the late night 102.7 days. Really, Ron and Fez got me interested in radio before WFMU did. Al Dukes, Wonderboy, what a lovable mess.
I haven't gotten a chance to listen to them on Free FM yet. Do they now do shows on both XM and Free FM daily? I think they used to do that on 102.7.
-
It's two diffrent shows, the one for XM is a free for all with tons of bad language. While the Free FM show is a bit tamer in other words no bad language.
-
I am starting to worry that 6+ hours of radio a day are going to take their toll on the buddies. I know the FreeFM show is supposed to be more NewYork-centric, but I'm now wondering if having two shows is going to produce two watered down shows.
We'll just have to see. for now, I have to figure out how to fit these 6 hours of radio into my daily routine.
-
I listened to it yesterday and I enjoyed it. Are there any archived shows for downloading?
-
well ronfez.net have a huge library of old bits not whole shows.
Then there is a place called bitemytorrent.com which has the xm shows and free fm but you need to know torrents. They usually post whole months at once if you really want ot delve into it.
-
I know nothing about Ron and Fez, so I looked them up on Wikipedia. Meh.
"Let the puppies breathe"? Yikes.

Well, yeah. Ron and Fez might seem like some Stern/O&A rip-off, but they are actually very smart and original. There is an element of kitschy radio, but they pull it off well.
-
Yeah I mean how many wacky radio shows will have Wim Wenders, Sydney Pollack, or Terry Gilliam on for a half hour to an hour.
Or a stupid red headed producer shave his head and believe that putting hot sauce on your head will tighten the scalp.
Or another producer who gives a report about how Noah had baby dinosaurs on the ark.
-
you have to listen for a while to get it. I would suggest the recent archives at ronfez.net to get up to speed. they do some stuff that seems like it would be hacky at times, but they always pull it off. When they first came on I was a huge O&A fan and didn't think much of Ron and Fez. Now, I will listen to O&A casually, but I absolutely have to listen to all 3 hours of Ron and Fez (usually via mp3 using bittorrent downloads)
-
Opie & Anthony are truly unfunny on every level. They're irredemably bad.
I don't even know Ron and Fez, and they're already on my bad side for being the "launching pad" for Larry the Cable Guy or whatever.
-
I had no idea they had connections to Lawrence the Cable guy. That's terrible.
Ron invents Smoke Pants:

Fez bragged that he could make anything funny, Ron challenges him to come up with a joke about rape:

Ron Bennington is a genius. he comes up with shit off the cuff that amazes me.
-
RonFez are good chat chaps. Thanks for the linkage. I liked Ron's memories of his youth i.e - drug deals gone bad.
-
Ron is one of the wittiest men alive.
Bruce did you hear the interviews with the guys from the Wire on O/A? They had a couple people from the show on two different days and the interviews lasted over an hour.
Heard both days with Bubs, Clayton Davis, Michael, and Chris

Can you get shows anywhere else? I don't want to sign up at that site.

Which site?
www.bitemytorrent.com is the best dedicated torrent site I've ever used, the shows take about 3 minutes to download.
-
I agree, but you're making me scared posting the URL.

They had David Lynch on this past week. Theyve been getting some pretty good guests they had Nick Cave on awhile back.

I'm still waiting for Earl to deliver on that Ron Wood interview but him getting David Lynch was a total shock.
