There's some definite lows. At least they crammed all the bad episodes in the middle. That freaking boxing episode. Ugh.

They are showing season 3 for free at a local movie theatre (2 episodes per night) until the new season starts. Pretty exciting! I really like this show when they stick to the main plot but the Melrose Place episodes are almost unbearable.
Also the disparity in acting abilities between the young, beautiful and talentless and the old veteran actors is almost embarrassing to watch. Starbuck? Ew bouy.

I think the foxy cylon lady is pretty good.

Well put, Phantom Hugger. You nailed the exact reason why I have not gotten in BG the way I've gotten into some other shows. The fact that the show has "Melrose episodes" drives me crazy. Even at its cheesiest, a show like "Lost" will give you 98% cheese in an episode, but then it will at least provide 2% of time to something that blows your head off. So you may get 98% Sawyer and Kate junk, but then Ben turns out to be the Smoke Monster.
In sum, there should not be a thing like a "Melrose episode". Give us something to sink our teeth into within every episode, no matter how little it may be.
That being said, I have not seen Season 3, so I should keep my mouth shut.

Part of it is that it is a show with a definite storyline. And once that story is over, the show is over. It's not just a purely episodic show where something new happens each week. So whenever the main story doesn't advance in an episode, I feel like I've wasted my time.

I don't like many things about the show, but the use of "All Along the Watchtower" is high on my list. Still, I've watched every episode so far, for some reason, and I'm not going to quit at the beginning of the final season.

They're taking a page from the Dutch playbook!
