i am going to be in new jersey listening to the best show live on the radio (as opposed to live on the internet) for the first time. is there any interest in a post show meet-up?
-

my girlfriend warned me against suggesting a pool party.

It'll end with tears.

Zing!
What, the culinary delights of the greasetrucks or Cluck U aren't worth mentioning?
**Edit** Dang, Grote got to it first.
-
As repulsive as the grease trucks are, I think they're fun to try at least once.
Will you have a car? New Jersey is pretty tough to get around if not.

there are similar food trucks that cruise chicago's manufacturing neighborhoods, but they don't seem to be as prolific as the rutgers grease truck. i would try a fat darryl but i have to maintain an air of professionalism while on campus. i'm there to work, not to attempt a heart attack.
no car while i'm there. the installation we are doing will take up all of the day time. i'll only have the evening to take in new brunswick.
do you have suggestions of any walking destinations in new brunswick?
-
Hey, c'mon, I'm an assistant instructor at Rutgers and I've had the occasional Fat Darrel (maybe twice in five years, in my defense, I'm not that crazy). As long as you don't get a Fat [insert slur], I don't think anyone would see it as unprofessional.
-
New Brunswick has a suprisingly good music scene, if you're into college-age garage rock bands.
-
May I suggest the Fat Bedi-Boy.
-
i stopped by Carlito's Way tonight. i ordered a polish w/everything and marinara sauce in an attempt to prepare myself for the grease truck experience. the cashier dropped his jaw and i said marinara.

If you like Middle Eastern food, Evelyn's is the best. Better than any mid-east food joint in NYC.
It's on Easton Ave. just past Thomas Sweet ice cream. Best ice cream on this planet.
-
If, for some reason, you come back in September, you can see the Toxic Avenger Musical on George Street:

i had evelyns for lunch today. pretty good. i had a bubble tea from the i's cafe, which is next to evelyns. that left a bit to be desired. i'll try thomas's tomorrow. i've got a $50 a day per-diem. the skys the limit this week.

Oh, cool! Their falafel and hummus is my favorite.
If for some reason you are in need of a tattoo, my friend
owns the Revolver tattoo shop (also by Evelyn's).
Ask for Chuck. He's a good guy.
Have fun!

You shouldn't have to steal your dinner from a duck.
