Title: Ted Leo question
Post by: Gilly on March 31, 2008, 09:19:37 PM
Did vinyl pressings of Hearts of Oak ever get made and are they available anywhere?

Oh they definitely did get made, but there hasn't been a re-press in a while, and I don't think there's any back stock of them at Lookout.

Was Lookout! as awful a label as musicians are now making it out to be?

As for getting a vinyl copy of Heart of Oak, I believe eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Ted-Leo-Hearts-of-Oak-LP-Spoon-peter-bjorn-and-john_W0QQitemZ250232069969QQihZ015QQcategoryZ306QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) is your only option.

I have no idea what TL's experience with them was, but from reading about how Green Day was eventually forced to take back their master tapes, it seems they were more bumbling than sinister.  I was way into Lookout back in the day (when I was 18, I couldn't get enough of that Screeching Weasel/Queers/MTX sound, and that Go Sailor album is still criminally overlooked) and it's been hard to watch them have troubles.

It's hard for me to stomach our own TL having those cretins as label mates.
