The letter! Great stuff Omar.
-
Omar, you know we all love your recaps but you don't get enough acclaim for the MP3s you post every week.
Mats outtake!
Busted Statues!
Kudos to you, sir!
-
yay! your recaps are so good that i usually read the whole thing even if i heard the whole show! and another thank you for the mp3s.
i was wondering: the beginning of the recap (the bob dylan call) makes it sound as if that was a new/fresh call rather than a clip from 2007. maybe it would be more appropriate to write: "tom plays a clip from 2007 wherein a female caller..."?
was that call nominated for best GOMP? i feel like i've heard it more than a few times.

i think it was...and its one of my favorites
"youre just sour grapes..."

yes! i love it. i took the playing of that clip as a warning to pre-topic callers. don't be this lady.

Thanks to all for the kudos re the recap text/.mp3 sets! As for the Classic GOMPs, I decided to treat them as though they were "new/fresh" (since Tom never comments on them as being re-airings) while linking to their original appearance. In this case, the Dylan call occurred in a show I did not recap, so there was no linkage.

cool, good to know.

Part II is complete!

Part III coming this November!
-
Reading Chris L's throwaway line about the "red band" version Meatloaf Go Phone commercial had me laffing all over again.
You still got it Chris L! You still got it Omah!

Part III coming this November!
when you're writing these, is there someone on the sidelines splashing you with water? passing you clif bars?
man oh man. selfless marathoning!
-
Once again Omar spruces up my mumbeld quips and finishes my incomplete sentences. What a mensch!*
*That's good, right? My yiddish is kinda schlecht.

Sadly, no. However, there was one time back in 2006 when a gentlemen dumped Frank's Black Cherry Wishniak on my head and pelted me with 9-volt batteries while attempting to finish a recap.

My yiddish is equally schlecht, but I'll take it as a compliment. Also: I'm considering adopting the nickname "The Spruce Goose." Not sure if it will have any traction...
