I just finished taking a final I had to do really well on in order to pass; right now I have that weird feeling where it could go either way. I've got a Folklore final in an hour.
Thank God this is my last semester. I'm ready to test my mettle in the crooked old world.

I'm five pages into twelve page paper that is either half or two-thirds of my grade due on Thursday. It's awesome!

I just finished a horrible one (4 hour - Environmental Law). I have an even more horrible one on Friday (4 hour - Tax Law). My life pretty much sucks right now.

I had a course last semester where my entire grade was dependent on fifteen pages of writing due at the end of the term. It's not a lot, but I still put it off and wrote it the night before. It could be in any configuration we wanted (one 15-page paper, one 6-page and one 9-page paper, etc.); I wrote a 12-page one and a 3-page one. I thought the 12-page one was pretty damn good, but the 3-page one was dreck, and I knew it before I turned it in.
I got a C.

Matt - Don't go to law school.
In just about every class, the entire grade is based on a final exam or paper. It's rough stuff.
Good luck to everyone still workin'. I finished last Friday and it's the sweetest feeling of all.

It's one of those multiple question ones. It's turning out to be a five-pager, a four, and a three. It's for Political Science 101. It's not so bad.

I'm writing a wretched paper for the most picky professor ever on domesticity in post world war two fiction. The first draft isn't due until Wednesday, but I'm practically hurling trying to write my thesis statement. Ugh..

Post WWII literary fiction reveals significant continuities and discontinities with the way Americans in previous generations understood domesticity.

I just finished with the Folklore final. If you would have told me a few days ago that the last writing I'd be doing as an undergraduate would be about Garth Brooks, I would've called you a liar. If you would've told me I would be sticking up for Garth Brooks, I would've called you a damn liar.
I thought this was weird: a couple weeks ago, we had a folklore paper due. We could write about anything; I wrote about novelty songs. We got the papers back today. I got an A+ and the professor said mine was the "best paper of the year". He even offered to write me a recommendation for graduate school. Again - novelty songs.
Ah, life, I don't understand you sometimes.

My last exam was today. Evidence. It's great to be done, and great to sell $80 books back to the store for $2.
Compared with the CALI exercises I was doing all day yesterday, which were at a Spock level of difficulty, it felt easy. Which is probably a bad sign.

edit: I didn't see that it was supposed to be about domesticity. Sorry. "...at odds with the very domesticity that it strives for."

Why aren't you selling them on Amazon? My wife's law books usually go for 50-60 bucks a pop, some of them sold for 10 dollars less than she bought them for. Once in awhile there is a book that changed editions or something but usually not.

I usually do. But they sell best at around the beginning of the semester. I've gotten prices as high as only $10 off the new price, that have sold in less than a day, when I've sold stuff towards the end of August/beginning of September. I did get some okay prices today.
But I wanted money now!

I've sold 4-5 books in the past two weeks. August is a good time but when people are signing up for classes is just as good.

I AM DONE I AM DONE I AM DONE. Graded 40 term papers in five days, went in for folder review after a night of debauchery that included a certain board mod and somehow managed to get commended on my performance. I had what were probably my best two classes ever - only one student who completed the paper failed (and he blew off the readings and discussion at the beginning of the semester, so it's not like I didn't warn him). More A papers than I've ever had, including one from Dan B's pal. And now, the best part of my life!!!

same here. and theyre kind of pointless (to me). if i dont know something in the real world, i get the luxury of looking it up. open book tests...i dig it.

I finished my last one for the year. Sweet relief!!!!!

I still haven't found out what I made on that test I had to do well on. I have the possibility of flunking that class and the wait makes me sick. If I flunk, then I'll be two hours short of graduating. If I pass, I'm good.
