Uptempo, pretty witty, toilet words used sparingly.

i was going to suggest this in the jimmy pardo thread as an alternative 'party conversation' podcast. it pretty much revolves around the wit of merlin mann of macbreak weekly (http://twit.tv/mbw), 43 folders (http://43folders.com) and his funny twitter posts as hotdogsladies (http://twitter.com/hotdogsladies). he and his twitter buddies scottsimpson (http://twitter.com/scottsimpson) and lonelysandwich (http://twitter.com/lonelysandwich) engage in rapid fire banter that definitely has a bit of the nerd table at lunch wise cracking feel to it. the editing and comic timing are pretty great for non-comics.

I never find myself laughing at so called 'amateur' podcasts like I did at this. Generally I find them listenable, at best, or atrocious at worst. These guys do it right! Thank you for sharing!

My thoughts exactly. I've subscribed to a dozen 'amateur' podcasts in the past year that reviewers swore were funny, and didn't laugh at anything of them. For amateurs these guys have amazing deadpan timing and group chemistry.
I also listened to "Uhh Yeah Dude" for the first time yesterday -- didn't enjoy it as much as YLNT, but it's got funny moments.
At the end of these long days where I'm fiddling with amateur podcasts, around 4:00pm one of my co-workers will inevitably say, "Can you just put the Best Show archives back on?"

The typo in the thread title makes me laugh.

Following @LonelySandwich (http://twitter.com/lonelysandwich) and @HotDogsLadies (http://twitter.com/hotdogsladies) are the only two excuses you need to join Twitter. If it weren't for those two guys, I probably would have abandoned Twitter in about a week. Now I'm fucking hooked.

YLNT is awesome. Merlin Mann is one of the funniest non-comedians in the world. Listening to him makes me really jealous. I wish I was that quick.

Twitter can be pretty terrible when it's just people writing about constant updates about what they're doing ("Off to the gym! Hope they play some cool music!!"). HotDogsLadies and Lonely Sandwich are pretty good but my personal favorite is Fireland (http://www.twitter.com/fireland). Takes the medium to a whole new level.

Huh. I'm a big Merlin Mann fan. I even carry around index cards. But I somehow didn't read about this on 43 Folders. Thanks for the tip!
His short-lived video interview show was pretty good, too.

I actually hung out with Merlin a few times in college, we both played in bands in a relatively small music scene with many mutual friends. Oddly, not once did he ever mention computers, media, GTD or anything else, and he wasn't what you'd consider geeky. I just knew him as a funny guy in a middlin' indie band. Strange to watch him become a household name, at least in the online world. He's definitely multi-talented.

Another Twitterer worth reading, I think he's actually friends with Scott, Merlin, etc -

Although it's pretty rife with potty talk, I swear by uhh yeah dude.
