Title: How many -bridges are there?
Post by: xtop on May 26, 2008, 02:56:03 AM
New to this whole posting thing, so excuse me if I totally mess up (or already have).

Anyhow, I was having a discussion with a friend about the show and how many variations of Newbridge have been mentioned and when I was recounting the ones I thought I remembered (East-West Southbridge?), realized I could've just been making them up. So, nerdishly sad as this is, can anyone help throw in some known town names towards the goal of something approaching a comprehensive list*?

*this list will be in my head, not actually written down

Off the top of my head: Newbridge, Lake Newbridge, Westbridge, Old Westbridge, South Westbridge, Eastbridge, South South Newbridge, Tribridge.  Pretty much positive I missed some, though.

That's right - eight bridges off the top of his head!
Eight of a million reasons why Jouster should be in the Hall of Fame, am I right, Tom?

I thinks there's a Nobridge as well.

Isn't tri-bridge the overall area, like the tri-state area.

I don't know - how hard is it to look at a map?

I don't think so. Zachary Brimstead said there would be a Brimstead's Restaurant located in Tribridge and there was a discussion of where exactly Tribridge is, so I think it's supposed to be an actual township. The name for the overall area that I've heard used is "The Quint Cities."

Woodbridge? High Bridge? Bridgeton? Bridgewater?

Or will the judges only only accept fake -bridges?

That was during ZB's call. I heard it as Tribridge, but it could be Troybridge.

I'm pretty sure they once mentioned the tri-bridge area, back in the day.

Apparently, xtop, you did not mess up. You have a bunch of Spartan Warriors debating this issue like Hasidic rabbis debating the Talmud.

Troybridge yes!  That made me LOL, as I am originally from the Par-Troy area of NJ, home to the Par-Troy Diner and Troy Hills school.

I thought Tri-bridge was more of an area than a city, like the tri-state area or the famous tri-city area in Oklahoma.

I always assumed the three cities were Neubridge, Westbridge and Blorgbridge.

I remember Newbridge County being mentioned during a call from Brad Somerstant (2000?). So, I would guess that all the -bridges would be located inside this county with Newbridge being the county seat?

Also Redbridge and Upper East Westbridge and I thought I heard Tom say Softbridge once but it was probably Southbridge.

Bill missed the big softball game against the team from Softbridge.  His mom was shredding reams!

Thanks for confirming that my hearing is still ok!

My all-time favorite: Moistbridge.  I think this was mentioned sometime in late-2005.
