Title: The Indy Rules
Post by: mokin on May 28, 2008, 04:12:33 AM
For an Indiana Jones movie to succeed, it must have:

    * Nazis
    * an opening not directly related to the rest of the film
    * Sallah
    * Marcus Brody
    * a quest for a biblical object
    * a desert setting

It must not have:

    * a young sidekick
    * primitive civilizations

Anything I’m forgetting?

* snakes
* handgun-as-punchline
* ghosts

Must have a love/hate relationship with a woman.

Must not have a love/hate relationship with a shrill, shrieking woman.

you may be on to something here.  I could never quite put my finger on what I disliked about Temple.  Going from Karen Allen to her as a female lead was weird.

A zeppelin or some old-timey vehicle.

A horsechase. Cue additional whipping mentioned by Erika.

Gags about the hat flying off and returning.
