Okay, something just isn't right about this tune. I listened to it live on Tuesday night, and was rockin' along with everyone else just fine. I woke up the next morning to find that all the dairy in my fridge had suddenly gone spoiled and my cat had been granted the ability to speak (albeit, with a French-Canadian accent). I knew something 'weird' was going on.
After a three hour consultation with Evangelist Rev. Michael Plont (http://www.nomoreministries.com/), I decided to try and decode the evil messages in the new hit song "The World is in the Turlet".
Hear the reversed version here. (http://www.kickthebobo.com/theworldisintheturlet_backmask.mp3)
Now, I don't know what kind of demon these guys are trying to invoke, or what the purpose of this auditory "spell" is, but I am for sure gonna be bathing in holy water for the next few weeks (just in case).
I can only make these messages out so far:
- at 8 sec, Tom states "as veal we'll make it"
- at 1min 49sec - "Mother there she is" and "If that heart is my valium"
- at 2min 34sec - 'Need expensive onions"
I'm scared, folks.
UPDATE: The good Reverand Plont just forwarded me this jpg, which apparently is an early draft of the artwork for the new TL/Rx album.

Hm. I'll see you... when I see you, KTB.
-
I am loathe to point this out, but it actually does kinda sound like "Beelzebub has risen", during the first chorus, at 00:44. You may be on to something here.
TL = Throne of Lucifer??!?! All hail the dark prince of rock.
-
Which one is Count Violence? All of them?
-
I love you, Bobo.
-
Can. Not. Put. Into. Words. How. .. . . AWESOME.
Proof of the strength of the song: the fact that the reversed version is still amazing. KTB, you win all future audio and image-based contests with that entry.
-
I'm also hearing "We don't want resistance" in the early part of the song!
-
maybe it wouldnt a good idea to have TL/Rx play The World Is In The Turlet live at this point
-
Its a testament to their evil genius that they can record a song in 90 minutes using other people's lyrics and still manage to put secret satanic messages in it.
...Then again, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists IS an anagram for "Lord Satan's phat emceed hit." Very Axl Rose of you guys.

I believe Tom concludes the dark proceedings with "Withered feet are real."
These are the End Times, people... the Turlet Times. Cant's walk away from it. Not with Withered Feet.
-
"Withered feet are real."
C r e e p y (which itself is creepier with the extra spaces).
