Title: Laurie's Penance
Post by: senorcorazon on June 06, 2008, 03:32:47 PM
If you haven't heard it on 7SD, she did it. And next week, we'll be able to hopefully say that she did it AGAIN.

So fantastic it's FONtastic.

Anybody else want to crash the 7SD Dizzy Party?

You could tell Laurie thought it was a bit awkward, but she pulled through. Great job, Laurie!

SSD is on a roll. I've really been enjoying the latest episodes.

Thank god someone posted about this.  I've been meaning to but kept forgetting.  Good job, Laurie.  It can't have been easy.

Might just be my misanthropic side, but the more irritated people are with SSD, the more I enjoy it.  Schadenfreude at its finest.

When Laurie said she wasn't going to the SSD party, I kept waiting for a joke about Doddy chartering the Concorde or something to fly her there but then I remembered that Ken and Andy don't seem to know yet about her unimaginable wealth.

I think Ken may know, but he wants it for the station, so he's careful not to do anything to alienate her.

SSD has been an a tear lately, I agree.

Picking on SSD when it's sucking is sort of like picking on a sickly child that can't defend herself.

By which I mean, AWESOME.

She was the first caller; shouldn't be that hard to find.

Samir, you've got to listen to "October 1, 2003: The Make You Say "No" Game with Tom Scharpling and Scott (from July 2001)."

Yeah, Tom's on it which helps, but it's super-funny because of Andy's amazing skill.

Samir, the 8/11/04 SSD episode features Andy, Tom and a third guy who also writes for Monk (no Ken on this one) where they suggest new answering machine messages for callers. Since it features Tom, it's a good gateway into SSD. It's also a really funny episode.

Here's a link to the archive: http://wfmu.org/listen.ram?show=12179&archive=14930

She returned last week with another slam dunk! Not only does she come through with a shout-out but also with a topic.... which Ken and Andy of course botch. In glorious form.

Totally what I'm doing this week. I'm really a noob to the show, even though I bought New Hope for the Ape-Eared about a year ago, I only recently got around to listening, and I'm totally sucked in now.
