I just happened to be watching season 1 of the Upright Citizens Brigade (episode 3) when I saw a face I thought I recognized. Behold...

I thought it was Roseanne Roseannadanna.

That's a sharp eye you got there fyodor! Audience cameos are my favorite cameos of all.

Is that the same episode with a pre-Daily Show Rob Cordry in a reaction shot?

They are very, very serious.

It kinda looks like that one scene where the crowd in a post-apocalyptic internment camp is forced to watch a loop of Big Brother-esque propaganda.

Yes! And there is the hero, head tilted back in skepticism, saying to himself, "I'm going to take this mother down!"

Could we bring up the house lights? Thanks!

Bunch of people asleep in that audience. Could simply be heroic that Tom's awake at this point...in any event, it IS heroic, that much I know.
Is this from circa 1998?

Yep, it's from one of the first episodes of the show, shot around then. You can see a lot of UCB regulars in crowd stuff, like Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, and Eugene Cordero.

Wow, does that look like one tough crowd. I'm imagining that they're not watching comedy, but actually listening to someone deliver a paper about the effective use of macroeconomic policy tools available to central banks in emerging countries.

I'm not an economist, but unfortunately, I'm no stranger to that kind of scene.

You never know what you're going to get with improvisational comedy.

And to think I was always a little nerdily proud of myself for recognizing Rob Corddry in that episode...
