Title: Tom ringtone
Post by: Fido on November 02, 2006, 07:36:37 PM
I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this, but I would get a huge kick (for at least a day or two or three) out of having a cell phone ringtone with the recorded voice of The Kid screaming, "Get off my phone!"  How could this happen?

And just so that we're clear, I've never had a ring tone before.  I think they are something I shouldn't bother with, except for this one idea.

(It's an idea kind of inspired by my client in Puerto Rico who had a ring tone with a recorded voice (in Spanish) saying, "Why are you always calling me?  Why are you always calling me?")

Until Tom gets a ringtone deal with Mennen, you'll have to use the record button on your cell phone. I tried; the recording quality was garbage, not worth it.

If your phone can play mp3 ringtones, here's a disgusted GOMP:

I found that the easiest way to get ringtones is by going to http://www.mobile17.com/ and signing up... it's free and you just upload a sound file and it sends it to your phone so if you have like, picture texting or whatever on your phone that's what it'll count it as when it sends. It's really easy and not that many people know about the site, so it's very convenient. And somebody just poste d a link to a good GOMP, so just use that with the site and you are good to go. I thiunk I'll do it now.
Most of my ringtones are stuff like Lightning Bolt and Hella and it sounds really good, for a phone that is.

Oh, you silly monkeys, enslaved to accessibility.
