Bassist Gene Simmonds explained that his band were refusing to record new material until illegal downloading ceases, calling the act of downloading "uncivilised".
"They've decided to download and file-share. There is no record industry around so we're going to wait until everybody settles down and becomes civilised. As soon as the record industry pops its head up we'll record new material."

aside from their first album and the possibility of mr. simmons getting you a good deal on a used '06 camry, i have to say that kiss pretty much sucks.

I decided not to record my first album for the exact same reason. I just can't be sure that any of my potential listeners would be civilized enough to pay for it.
How on earth does he think he can get away with judging his (alleged) fans for being "uncivilized"? Pots and kettles I say, pots and kettles.

"As soon as the record industry pops its head up" being a euphemism, of course, for "We've shopped the idea around, but so far nobody has agreed to pay us the insanely unrealistic amount of money we think we deserve in order to do it yet".

We're all forgetting the real victims here: Ace and Peter could have been re-hired and fired another 10 or 12 more times if people would stop stealing KISS intellectual property.
