I'm finishing up this weeks show on podcast. Blasting it in the living room with the windows open. Good place to get work done.
The buildings behind me have been tore down in favor of the next generation of Brooklyn high-rises. It's getting difficult to listen to the show over the sound of jackhammers, cranes, and concrete mixers... but I got to tell you people, The Best Show layers well with the sounds of industry.
Every time Tom blows the lunch whistle, all the hardhats turn to look over at my apartment.

Good to hear about the construction. More luxury 1-2 bedroom apartments are exactly what Brooklyn needs.
Hey Spoony, this may sound controversial but turn off the podcast and put on FMU. It's Three Chord Monte time with DJ Joe Blelock.

You know what... you're right. Enough living in the past. Time to re-connect with humanity.
Thanks, Gravy Boat.

which of these would be more appropriate to wear during the show? My joe schmo worker hardhat from back in the day or my fancy boss hardhat?

You know the answer to this. A pox on boss hard-hats.
-
Also, "Flint Co" is possibly the most blue collar-sounding name of a business ever. You're the lunchpail ambassador of the FOT.
-
I like that funky hat on the left. Was FlintCo originally in the conquistador business?

Which is which? My guess is the gladiatorial one is the boss hat.

The McDonalds big gulp in the background makes the hard hat picture even more hard hat-ish.
-
I had a mcgriddle for breakfast today.

Only one person can wear the foreman's hat. And that person is usually behind the mic. The one who tells the humps to get back to work on the topic.

I'm about to go home and help out my at my Uncle's concrete hardware company with an iPod full of best show. I started listening to the best show while working there to help with the tedium of working a press from 8-5. Now I cant step one foot inside Titcomb Bros. Mfg without Tom by my side. Flintco may take the crown for blue collar business names but I think "Steel Dog" isn't too far behind.

Big ups (lamest expression candidate) to Dorvid and KTB for their Bad to the Bone remixes.
I don't know too many hardhats who make lists of their favorite/least favorite celebrities, but maybe it's the new generation. I had to get out of the construction game because of my sciatica.

Mudhoney dude is above Mick Collins.
Spoon - I almost cried!
+1 (my lamest expression candidate) to Dorvid and KTB. I got SO much work done while listening to the show.

When he said Mick Collins, for some reason I thought he was talking about Chris Bailey from The Saints. It was late, I was tired, the adrenaline of a Best Show phone call... it got to me. I choked.
The singer in my band is from Detroit, and she threw a shoe at me when she heard that. She worships at the Alter Of The Gories. That kind of made it worth it.
