Title: The Worst Song on Message From the Country
Post by: John Junk 2.0 on July 25, 2008, 05:10:13 PM
...while we're at it, can someone explain why all my favorite songs on the 2005 re-issue of this are the Bonus tracks? ("Chinatown", "Tonight", etc.)

EASILY, "Don't Mess Me Up" - and that's not take anything away from the incredible turdiness of the other two choices.  Roy Wood really needed an editor (try sifting through Wizard albums for the good songs), but man, oh man, "It Wasn't my Idea to Dance?"  That alone makes this album worth owning.

I'd say "Don't Mess Me Up" too. Bev Bevan's super-deep joke voice is no good, but his Mummy Elvis voice is even less appealing. Love all the Lynne songs on this, though, especially "Words of Aaron" and the title track.

The Words of Aaron ruels.

Is Bev Bevan the one singing "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart" on The Move's eponymous debut?  'Cause that's like an early hint at stinkers to come.
